Mandala School Newsletter January 5, 2018 This week’s editor: Keltrian Students working on their ancient civilization research project. They are studying different aspects of life between 2000 and 1000 B.C. Student of the week: Liam Where do you live? Buffalo. I don’t really know where I live. What do you want to be when you grow up? A firefighter What is your greatest fantasy? I’m not so sure about that. How would you describe yourself? Smart If you could go anywhere, where would it be? Florida What do you like to do in your spare time? Go outside in Playing board games on a cold day the yard. What is your favorite video game? I don’t play video games, but my dad does. What is your favorite movie? Veggie Tales What is your favorite sport? Football What is your favorite team? The Bills What is your favorite weather? Winter What is your favorite subject? French Left: Kate, Claudia, & Jackson in French class. They are learning verbs “to be” and “to go.” Être and aller Above: Students gathered around the fireplace reading short stories by Ray Bradbury. We started a science fiction unit reading The Pedestrian and All Summer in a Day. Students are beginning to write stories of their own. Left: Graham, Charlotte, Claudia are making great strides learning how to read, write, and share with their classmates! They’re so happy, we are too! Très bien! A group of 14 Mandala students and teachers will be traveling to France in April to practice the language, experience the culture, and visit historical museums and monuments.
