INTRODUCTION BY THE CHAIRMAN 5 INTRODUCTION BY THE CHAIRMAN I am very pleased to welcome you to The Football Association Handbook, the essential guide to the rules and regulations of football. The Handbook has been published every year since 1895, excluding the war years, and should again prove an invaluable companion to people involved in football at all levels. The FA has the privilege and responsibility to oversee football in England as a whole and in all its aspects. We do so in partnership with a powerful professional game – and a national game administered locally by dedicated people and played in facilities all over the country. We are grateful for the privilege and determined to meet in full the responsibility. Football is ‘one game’ and we approach it with one set of values. Football has rules to protect those who take part in it and I hope that every recipient of the 2012-2013 Handbook, whatever his or her involvement in the game, will fi nd it a helpful reference book during the season. More memories from Joe For the third of my lockdown projects, and with the help of Gethin Williams, Keith Warren, Jeremy Wood and Dr Haydn James, I take a look at all the sporting arena performances that the London Welsh Male Voice Choir have been involved in. The Arenas The rehearsals are over. You walk out in your red jackets, heart-thumping, into a half empty stadium and stand on the pitch, pre-match, looking at the vast space of the arena that will, in a short time, be packed to the rafters with fervent supporters. You are performing to a captive audience who’s heart and soul are perfectly in tune with yours and who give you their undivided attention as the atmosphere is ramped up minutes before kick-off. You are privileged to be here, walking on hallowed turf. You feel the excitement and pride of appearing before an expectant nation. You smell the newly cut and watered grass. You hear the roar and stand in unison with your heroes as they walk onto the pitch. There is a moment’s silence as the crowd rises and all eyes are on you, and your eyes are on the conductor, as his baton brings in the band accompaniment before experiencing the spine-tingling emotion of singing your national anthem to an arena packed with rugby fans and a live television audience of millions. You are part of extraordinary matches and witness legends being made, and folklore created in song. You are on the fi eld with The London Welsh Male Voice Choir and you will be part of some of Wales’s most iconic rugby matches in modern times.

NEWSLETTER : ISSUE NUMBER 1 Altrincham Football Club Newsletter Issue 1 December 2016 NEW BOSS AND BACKROOM STAFF When Altrincham's board concluded the appointment of Jim Harvey hadn't had the effect not only desired but widely expected, given his impressive track record at various levels of the game, and terminated his contract on December 6, it was decided to place his assistant Matt Doughty in interim charge. Matt Doughty Matt is known as Buzz due to a jawline that resembles that of Toy Story character Buzz Lightyear, and he wasted no time sticking his chin out and declaring his pride at being trusted with trying to revive Alty's fortunes. Firmly believing an affinity with the club was a prerequisite for getting the best out of his players, swiftly turned to former Robins captain Robbie Lawton and Alty legend Graham Heathcote - a member of Tony Sanders' all-conquering line-up prior to serving as secretary, coach and manager - to join him on the sidelines. Explaining the thinking behind drafting in two iconic figures from Alty's past, Buzz said: 'I brought Robbie and Graham in because they have an affiliation with the club. When new players come in, they need to be made aware of what it means to play for Altrincham. There's no-one better than Robbie or Graham to do that. We need to instil it in them that we are battlers who are fighting for this club, and if they don't do the same, they don't get to wear the shirt.

    SUNDOWN OPTIMIST BUFFALO GALS CLUB ACHIEVEMENTS November 2017 This document contains a listing of achievements of the Sundown Optimist Buffalo Gals & World Team organization. Information in this handbook is subject to change. SOBG Achievements Page 2 Club Achievements Below are some of the club achievements recorded to date: 1967 - Buffalo Gals officially named in honour of Regina’s Buffalo Days celebration. Prior to 1967, the Buffalo Gals performed under the name Prairie Maids, Twirling Teens and Johnson Jets and took part in local events. A “BIG” trip to Winnipeg or Calgary was the highlight of the year. Even then, the philosophy of group interaction with your competitive peers was utilized to keep the Martin School students “at the top”. The standard was being set for Saskatchewan and as our horizon broadened, so did the accomplishments. The groundwork was laid for today’s champions and Stars of Tomorrow. 1969 Canadian National Exhibition, Toronto, On ★ 1st place Corps Championships ★ This marked the first time a Western Baton Twirling group traveled to the East for a Canadian Championship. 1974 America’s Youth on Parade, South Bend, Indiana, USA ★ Capture “Little Brown Jug”, to become the first Canadian Baton Twirling Corps to win Grand National Dance Twirl Championship. 1976 Optimist International Convention, Washington, DC ★ Guest performers at the Optimist Convention. ★ Captured the “Little Brown Jug” for the 2nd time as Senior Grand National champions at AYOP, South Bend, Indiana 1978 Optimist International Convention, San Diego, California, USA ★ Guest performers at the Optimist Convention. Canadian Championships, Winnipeg, Manitoba ★ National titles in all three Corps, Team and Dance Twirl events, Juvenile, Junior and Senior age divisions (another first in Canadian Baton Twirling).

They are ordered by their capacity; i.e. the maximum number of spectators the stadium can accommodate. The capacity figures are permanent total capacity, including seating and any standing areas, and excluding any temporary seating. Most large stadiums in Europe are used for association football, with the rest hosting rugby union, rugby league, cricket, track and field, bandy, and gaelic games such as Gaelic football, hurling and camogie. Camp Nou has the highest capacity in All stadiums with a capacity of 25,000 or more are included. Thomas The Millennium Stadium Cardiff, Midnight, New Year’s Eve 2011/2012 The firework’s cannon-echo fades, the rocket’s falling star decays as first with seconds, then minutes the year begins to carve its ways. The pitch grass is pale and short, dew-damp underfoot, the blades coaxed by low-suspended lamps further from their roots. Everything is to come, the stadium a vessel, the quiet a settled dust, a stillness anticipating the violence of a match day’s lust. The stands of seats are a crucible of voices, everything still to say, a hundred exit men between them, running their lives away. The soundscape of a cave, dripping in the night. Or a winter wood where every creak and sigh suggests the ear of tooth or blood. A single bird takes flight across the opened roof as if lifting from a bough, its feathers lit, as bright as a sub breaking from touch like the breaking of a vow. A blessing? Perhaps. For seasons and matches also have their grace, not only turning but returning too, beginning at the same beginning place. We are grown from memory but alive only now, our past breaths upon the wind. Whatever has been done, though there, is gone; whoever sinned, whoever won, is recalled and forgotten here, where glory, bruise and blame will all be washed away by now. The new grass shall purge us in its flame.
