Invests within the next years: ~3 bn EURO Digital Railway ERTMS National (~ 120 bn €) Implementation (~ 2 bn €) NeuPro with ETCS Railmap ERTMS (~ 1,8 bn €) (~ 2,5 bn €) ERTMS (~ 2 bn €) 6 EULYNX PMO - 20170517 Engineering excellence! EULYNX-methods expected annual savings app. €300 Mio Annual overall investment in signalling (by EULYNX members) ~1 bn € Costs for formal requirements specification ~50 mio. € Costs for formal validation (test and approval) ~200 mio. € Expected annual savings due to engineering excellence based on EULYNX Conservative assumption 30 % of engineering costs x 250 mio. € = 75 mio. € n Investment in formal methods pays off during life cycle n Return on investment is ensured since EULYNX addresses European market n EULYNX provides engineering approach for ETCS, ATO and other (sub)systems 7 EULYNX PMO - 20170517 Excellent business opportunities for suppliers of signalling systems Other investments based on EULYNX Market opportunities for EULYNX (bn €) System Engineering processes Assumed shift to EULYNX within 5 years (mio. €) 185 140 1.0 0.8 105 0.6 70 0.4 50 0.2 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022 n EULYNX is main driver for standardisation and digitisation of the railway system n EULYNX engineering methods will significantly reduce the time to market and engineering costs n Share of EULYNX signalling systems will increase significantly within next 5 years n Early implementation of other subsystems will be based on EULYNX-type specifications 8 EULYNX PMO - 20170517 Agenda EULYNX fosters a new digital railway Business perspectives Status of project and outlook 9 EULYNX PMO - 20170517 EULYNX provides CENELEC documents up to phase 5, including requirements of 10 European infrastructure managers 10 EULYNX PMO - 20170517 EULYNX specifications are formal, complete, correct, approved and available - free of charge! Full set of documents (baseline 1.0) published as planned in March 2017, baseline 2.0 for 12/2017 n Robust planning n EULYNX intends to continue as independent organisation aiming for standardisation n Any infrastructure managers is welcome as new members n As example, ATO will become a game changer for our business – EULYNX provides specifications 11 EULYNX PMO - 20170517 Message Network Rail Our interest in EULYNX n ETCS level 3 Development Programme (2015 – 2030) Digital Railway Strategy implementation on behalf of the GB Rail Industry. n Adoption of Open Standards across European Infrastructure Managers. n NR is leading in the production of common interface standards for Traffic Technology Management - Control systems / interlockings /point machines. n Outputs available for adoption in Traffic Management deployments and Rail Operating Centres (2018 – 2021). Projects n Supports infrastructure development for ETCS level 3 , elimination of bespoke components, and facilitates simplification of design (Automated Design Software) and standard installation processes. Invests n EULYNX principles being applied to DR Open Architecture project which has commenced. n Pan European investment of circa Euro 20m leveraging maximum benefits for Process participants. n Potential savings to the UK in a typical control period of 5 years is estimated at £25m n Facilitates co operative across infrastructure managers and supports innovative Market working. n Unified market with effective cost management of Capex/ Opex and Materials Procurement. 12 EULYNX PMO - 20170517 Message ProRail Our interest in EULYNX Strategy ERTMS Programme (2014 –2028) 2,5 bn € (Tender strategy defined by Ministry, ProRail & NS) § TCO reduction compared to nowadays signalling costs § Competition during whole life cycle, reduction of dependency of signalling suppliers § Need for open systems and open processes, i.e. standardisation Technology § IPR of requirements, rules and interfaces not with the signalling suppliers § Tooling for dataprep of suppliers signalling systems at certified engineering bureaus § Proof of Concept Open Interlocking Network (TDS, P, LX, LS); phase 1 (certified Projects Engineering bureaus) and phase 2 (supplier systems) (Q3 2016 … Q1 2017) § Development of ETCS Level 3 programme in cooperation with NR Investments Replacement Programme PVT in progress § TCO reduction compared to nowadays signalling costs § Competition during whole life cycle, reduction of dependency of signalling suppliers Process § Certified engineering bureaus in the lead § Need for open systems and open processes, i.e. standardisation § Objective: all IPR with ProRail (nearly there) § Requirements “Main Line” and “Region Line” Market § Corridor 1 .. 4 in realisation, next set of corridors in preparation 13 EULYNX PMO - 20170517 Message DB Netz AG Our interest in EULYNX Strategy n Changing the rail ecosystem needs a European perspective. EULYNX provides this perspective for infrastructure managers! n Digitalisation drives innovation! EULYNX provides a modern, network Technology based architecture, latest engineering methods and standards. n DB is currently negotiating five projects based on EULYNX Projects specifications. This shows clear commitment. n Based on EULYNX we are planning a rollout programme for our entire Invests Signalling infrastructure. The largest investment programme ever! Process n EULYNX Engineering methods can optimise cooperation between infrastructure managers and industry. We are prepared to cooperate! Market n We expect a significant impact on the market. 14 EULYNX PMO - 20170517 Why to continue with EULYNX? • After the publication of baseline 2.0 the specifications enter into a maintenance phase: • error corrections • bug fixing • Addition of new partners • ATO and other new to be established interfaces • increased functionality • Support for national implementations • Maintenance effort to be reduced over time as specifications are maturing • It is also important to stay connected to the community for common approach towards suppliers and national safety authorities, etc. • The current organisation will be converted into a standardisation body for EULYNX. • End game is to get it as a European standard 15 EULYNX PMO - 20170517 Current activities of partners • DB: : reference implementations already in service • Kreiensen: SCI-ILS • Erfurt HSL: RBC • Annaberg Buchholz: SCI-LS, SCI-P, SCI-TDS • Bodensee: SCI-LX in installation phase • Contracting for Pilot Implementations (5 lines) in tendering phase • Multiple suppliers involved: Siemens, Thales, Bombardier, Ansaldo, Scheidt & Bachman, Pintsch Bamag, Frauscher and others • : : feasibility study for several SCI (LS, P, TDS) with around 10 suppliers and engineering bureaus • : : currently in phase 2 of its tendering process for the whole network replacing all interlockings and installing network wide ETCS and GSM-R. Contracts to be awarded by the end of the year. Full architecture to be applied. All suppliers have indicated compliance. • : Strategy for future railway design described in its digital Railway Strategy; strategy endorsed by the government and parliament 16 EULYNX PMO - 20170517 EULYNX be part of the digital future of railways more information on www.eulynx.eu 17 EULYNX PMO - 20170517 BACK UP 18 DBEULYNX Netz AG PMO | Vorstand - 20170517 | 24.06.2016 Cluster: Reference Architecture SCI = Standard Communication Interface SDI = Standard Diagnostic Interface SMI = Standard Maintenance Interface Traffic Control System Trackworker Command Automatic Adjacent Legacy Radio Block Train Level Crossing Safety Control Route S etting Documentation Interlocking Power Supply LZB Centre Describer System System System System System System SCI-CC RBC ILS LX EULYNX System SCI-TSS SCI-RBC SCI-RBC ILS7 SCCCI-CC ILS3 ILS2 ILS1 SCI-ILS SCI-LX ILS5 Configuration Subsystem –"Electronic Interlocking data carrier
