Introduction to Wax Play July 2020 Krome ONYX Introduction Wax play, a form of temperature play, incorporates melting wax of various types to create slight stinging sensations inducing excitement or arousal. In this introduction we will cover tips and techniques for beginners. In addition, we will discuss materials needed and what should be done before, during and after the play session. Materials The safest wax products to use are made of soy and paraffin or a mixture of the two. Paraffin and soy melt at lower temperatures and are least likely to burn your submissive during play. Specific wax is needed during play and should be chosen in its purest form. Before purchasing, read the ingredients to ensure your wax does not have any additives and perfumes. Avoid wax that is dyed with unnatural ingredients, scented, look metallic and products containing beeswax. Consider the allergies of the submissive, a reaction due to negligence will ruin the experience. Typically the decorative candles you have in your home are not the proper type to use for wax play. When selecting a candle, the easiest to master is the classic stick. The surface area of the wax is wide enough to produce safe slow and steady drips. Not to be confused with tapered candles which have a smaller surface area for the wax to pool. Tapered candles elevate the temperature of wax point of contact to the body and can be unsafe for beginners. Pillars and votives are another great option for pooling and allow for a more concentrated pour. Candles that are enclosed in glass or cups should be avoided by beginners. -

Liberation Through Domination: BDSM Culture and Submissive-Role Women Abstract The alternative sexual practices of bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, and sadism and masochism (BDSM) are practiced by people all over the world. In this paper, I will examine the experiences of five submissive-role women in the Netherlands and five in south-central Pennsylvania, focusing specifically on how their involvement with the BDSM community and BDSM culture influences their self-perspective.I will begin my analysis by exploring anthropological perspectives of BDSM and their usefulness in studying sexual counterculture, followed by a consideration of feminist critiques of BDSM and societal barriers faced by women in the community. -

In this piece, Lynx AKA member LeathermanLynx shares his insight and experiences from playing with Hot Wax. Earlier today my partner and I went for pedicures -- he has a thing for feet. Towards the second half of my pedicure, the technician asked, "What colour wax do you want?" It caught me off guard, but I realized I had been given a choice of green or orange paraffin wax for the pedicure - I chose orange. I put my feet in the molten orange wax and - DAMN! - it felt so good! I sat there [the massage chair chopping at my back while the wax did its thing to my feet] and I started thinking about Wax Play. Those thoughts led to this piece. In my experience, sometimes limits are not pushed in a BDSM scene. Sometimes, it's just two men, hot for each other, smelling each other's "man-ness." Sometimes, it just so happens to be an 'artistic' experience. That's how I approach playing with hot wax in Temp Play. For me, it's more than dripping wax across a nice ass. In BDSM, edgeplay is a subjective term for activity that may challenge the conventional S.S.C. scheme; if one is aware of the risks and consequences and is willing to accept them, then the activity is considered RACK. Edgeplay may involve the consequences of potential short- or long-term harm or death, exemplified by activities such as breathplay erotic asphyxiation, fire play, knife play, fear play, temperature play, wax play and gunplay, as well as the potential increased risk of disease seroconverting when the risk of bodily fluid exchange is present, such as with cutting, bloodplay, or barebacking. The mindset of those involved constitutes what is edgeplay because knowledge of or experience with the activity or partners may dictate what and to what extent they will act. The propriety for more dangerous or taboo-themed activities varies by individual, due to differences in moralities as well as trust between participants and experience. The only consistent rule of edgeplay is that activities including in sadomasochism must not be coercive, deceitful, or injurious without prior agreement or knowledge. This does exclude how others may react to the outcomes of the activity if they go beyond what can be handled by the partners. In the mid-1990s, the Living in Leather convention did not have discussion on ageplay, salirophilia or scat because, at the time, they were considered too extreme for consensual activity. AMERICAN INFERNO by PATRICK DENKER (Under the Direction of Reginald McKnight) ABSTRACT American Inferno, a novel, is a loose transposition of Dante‟s Inferno into a contemporary American setting. Its chapters (or “circles”) correspond to Dante‟s nine circles of Hell: 1) Limbo, 2) Lust, 3) Gluttony, 4) Hoarding & Wasting, 5) Wrath, 6) Heresy, 7) Violence, 8) Fraud and 9) Treachery. The novel‟s Prologue — Circle 0 — corresponds to the events that occur, in the Inferno, prior to Dante‟s and Virgil‟s entrance into Hell proper. The novel is a contemporary American moral inquiry, not a medieval Florentine one: thus it is sometimes in harmony with and sometimes a critique of Dante‟s moral system. Also, like the Inferno, it is not an investigation just of its characters‟ personal moral struggles, but also of the historical sins of its nation: for Dante, the nascent Italian state; for us, the United States. Thus the novel follows the life story of its principal character as he progresses from menial to mortal sins while simultaneously considering American history from America‟s early Puritan foundations in the Northeast (Chapters 1-4) through slavery, civil war and manifest destiny (Chapters 5-7) to its ultimate expression in the high-technology West-Coast entertainment industry (Chapters 8-9).
