Regulations 2015 Regulation 1 Statutory Document No. 2015/0091 c Police Act 1993 POLICE REGULATIONS 2015 Laid before Tynwald: 21 April 2015 Coming into Operation: 1 April 2015 The Department of Home Affairs makes the following Regulations under sections 8, 8C, 8D, 8E, 8F, 8G and 20 of the Police Act 1993. 1 Title These Regulations are the Police Regulations 2015. 2 Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 1 April 2015. 3 Interpretation (1) In these Regulations— “Act” means the Police Act 1993; “appeals regulations” means the Police (Appeals Tribunal) Regulations 20151 and includes any other regulations relating to appeals from time to time in force under sections 8, 8A, 8D and 8F of the Act; “business interest” has the meaning as set out in regulation 7(1); “Chief Constable” means the Chief Constable appointed under section 2 of the Act; “chief officer” means a person appointed to be responsible for a police force in a jurisdiction outside of the Isle of Man; “conduct regulations” means the Police (Conduct) Regulations 20152 and includes any other regulations relating to conduct from time to time in force under sections 8, 8A, 8B, 8D, 8F and 8G of, and paragraph 13 of Schedule 1 to, the Act; 1SD 2015/0094 2 SD 2015/0093 c SD No.2015/0091 Page 5 Regulation 3 Police Regulations 2015 “maternity leave” means leave taken in accordance with a determination under regulation 39(7); “member of the police force” means the Chief Constable, any constable appointed under section 5(1) of the Act and any such member who is suspended under the conduct regulations; “negotiation body” means a body established under regulations made under section 8E of the Act; “oral fluid” includes saliva; “pensionable service” has the same meaning as in the police pensions regulations; “performance regulations” means the Police (Performance) Regulations 20153 and includes any other regulations relating to performance from time to time in force under sections 8, 8A, 8D, 8F of, and paragraph 13 of Schedule 1 to, the Act; “police force” means the Isle of Man Constabulary or, where the context requires otherwise, a police force other than the Isle of Man Constabulary specified in section 67(1D) of the Police Powers and Procedures Act 1998; “police pensions regulations” means— (a) regulations relating to pensions from time to time in force under the Police Pensions Act 1976 (of Parliament) as amended and applied to the Isle of Man under regulations made by the Department under the Superannuation Act 1989
