ABURI

I like good sushi and while I am willing to travel to get it, I would rather have it close at hand. Finding Aburi Sushi in Rota was very convenient as their sushi is top notch. While sushi is their specialty, they also have other traditional Japanese dishes on their menu such as teriyaki chicken accompanied by rice, yakisoba with vegetables and beef, curry noodles and much more. Aburi has great rolls, one of my favorites is the EBI TEMPURA, shrimp fried in tempura and panko covered with cheese, avocado, eel sauce and sesame, it is one of the most requested rolls of their customers. For salmon lovers they have a roll called SKIN DRAGÓN, a grilled salmon skin covered with flambéed salmon, eel sauce and ikura salmon roe. They have different sushi platters that are excellent and pleasing as to the combinations of flavor and type. A selection of good sakes is on offer. If you have room it is well worth trying their Japanese deserts like dorayaki, mochis and their homemade vanilla tempura ice cream dessert. I have noticed that good Sushi restaurants have a talented and dedicated chef as the owner and David is the professional person who holds that position here. The restau- rant has a comfortable atmosphere and excellent service. Currently the restaurant is open Tuesday to Sunday (18:00 to 23:00) but due to Covid-19 governmental changes it is better to be attentive to their social networks ( and Instagram) for possible future schedule changes. Please see their ads in the paper for more details. Take away and Home Delivery are available. KOKES GRILL
