CONSIDERATION OF OUR CHRISTIAN COMMITMENT: TIME GRATITUDE

This Sunday as we celebrate the last Sunday in Ordinary of the Son of God.” 4:12-13 While there are many ways in Time, we join to celebrate the Solemnity of Christ the which we can be equipped to build the Kingdom, certainly King. Next Sunday, we will begin a new Liturgical Year prayer is the foundation and puts us in contact with the Holy on the First Sunday of , but this Sunday we Spirit and all the other gifts we might need through the year. remember that Christ is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega, as our windows so beautifully testify. I would like to offer a word of thanks to Bryan Wax, principal of Denham Springs Jr. High, and Margie Soileau, This should also be our first Sunday back in our renewed their custodian, who made the school cafeteria and many church. It was a joy seeing the new tiles being laid adjacent rooms available for the two weekends we were out throughout the church over the past weeks and to see the of the church building. When we arrived, the seating was all new pews arrive by truck this past Monday. I hope you like arranged, everything, even the principal’s office (which we the brightness of the floors and lights and the warmth and used for Reconciliation) were available to us. I had to smile comfort of the new pews. As mentioned last week, as living that persons were being sent to the principal’s office to temples of God, we also should be light in our world and celebrate reconciliation! The staff at the Junior High could give comfort and warmth to others. So many of our not have been nicer, nor done any more than they did to ministries are held together and empowered by prayer. It is make everything work out well for us. Many thanks also to good that this Sunday we are asking parishioners to Sherry Leger and Deacon Rudy and those who assisted prayerfully reflect on their commitment to prayer and to them in setting up on Saturdays and taking down on bring your completed commitment cards with you to Sundays. Everyone worked so well together; it was really an church next Sunday so you may participate in the inspiration to see. Over and above the weekend experiences, commitment . it was good to see how all the ministries who use different halls and rooms adjusted to the needs of all. Everyone The theme for our Stewardship Program this year is experienced some adjustment in one way or another, and I Equipped to Build the Kingdom, and is based on a never heard one even semi-cross word. Thanks so much. It is good to see renewed, living temples moving back into the brick and mortar temple. We have a partnership with Denham Springs Jr. High that in case of an emergency or disaster there, the students would be transferred here to be kept safe until parents could pick them up. Hopefully we never have to keep our end of the bargain.

Congratulations to the Ladies’ Guild who had a really good weekend with their Bazaar. They were worried that not having Eucharist here on campus, would hurt their turn out, but they have such a good reputation, they sold out of every bit of food they had prepared for meals and sold many of their handcrafted items. They said it was a very successful weekend and they thank all who came.

Please consider your (re)commitment to prayer this week and return your commitment sheets next weekend when you come to celebrate Eucharist. Just this action is a beautiful and important witness as we begin a new Liturgical Year. letter of the Apostle Paul to the Ephesians, “Equip the holy Have a good week; Love, ones for the word of ministry, for building up the Body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge Page Four Sunday, November 22, 2015 The Grapevine Immaculate Conception Church November 22 — December 5, 2015 Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM HAPPY CHURCH OFFICE Sunday Mass/C Mass/C Art Council/ELC3 Small Faith THANKSGIVING CLOSED 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Group/R2 RCIA Rite of AA Meeting/SH AA Meeting/SH 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM 8:00 AM - 8:25 AM Acceptance/MH 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM AA Meeting/SH Thanksgiving Reconciliation/C First Sunday of 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Choice Wine - Reconciliation/C 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM Mass/C 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM Mass/C For Married 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM Resource Staff/R2 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Mass/C 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Couples/R2 Mass/C 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM AA Meeting/SH 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Sunday Mass/ 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM Thanksgiving AA Meeting/SH 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM MSH That Man Is You/ Nov/Bene/C Mass/C 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM TMIY/SH 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM R2 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM CHURCH Charismatic 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Nursery/ELC4 Facilities Meeting/ Alzheimer OFFICE Prayer Group/C AA Meeting/SH 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM R2 Caregivers CLOSED 2:45 PM - 3:45 PM Sunday Mass/C 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM Support Group/R2 Reconciliation/C 12:15 PM - 1:30 PM Men's Club/SH 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM /C 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM Sunday Mass/C 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Adult /C Sunday Mass/C
