Nominations for the Maryland Pro Bono Service Awards are collected each spring by the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland (PBRC), the pro bono arm of the MSBA. On June 16, the 2018 awards were pre- sented by Chief Judge Mary Ellen Barbera of the Maryland Court of Appeals, and Sharon E. Goldsmith, Executive Director of PBRC. he Judge Robert M. Bell Award (hon- oring an individual who has gone above and beyond the average pro bono commitment for at least 5 years) was presented to Mary Anna Donohoe, of Montgomery County. Ms. Donohoe started volunteering with Homeless Persons Representation Project in 1988, staing a clinic at a soup kitchen.
