The salient features of proposed mining method are:- • Mining will be confined within central 3/4th width of the river. This will prevent collapse of bank and erosion. • It will be done leaving a safety zone of total of 1/4th of the width of the river from the banks for bank protection. • Excavated area will be replenished naturally due to sediment inflow from the catchment area. • The maximum depth of sand quarrying in the river bed shall not exceed 1 (three) meters measured from the un-mined bed level at any point of time or the water table whichever is less.
