Cost and Commercial Manager in ‘TECHT’ team on £4.2 billion prestigious new airport development at Heathrow Terminal 5. Infrastructure and M&E works. Nov 06 - July 07 EC HARRIS LLP Tube Lines - New Works Directorate

Engaged by EC Harris and seconded to Tube Lines offices in Canary Wharf. Senior Estimator in New Works directorate preparing bids for works outside of main PPP contract either in competition with alternative providers or single sourced for negotiation with LUL.

Bids include Tottenham Court Road MDC (competitive bid), £10m RIBA stages E-G; Stockwell Boreholes, £5m design & construct works comprising geothermal boreholes and M&E works for Cooling the Tube programme; Finsbury Park, £40m estimate to RIBA stage D tolerance.

Finalise account for AMP 3 ‘Alliancing’ programme. Approx 50 no. NEC Option C Target Cost contracts valued at approx £60m. Audit actual cost and agree account with Contractor. Advise WW Management Team on disputed issues such as Staff Cost recovery and Compensation Events. Sewerage storm and sludge schemes. Prepare claim against Contractor on AMP 2 project exhibiting unresolved patent and latent defects. Process and M&E Contractor on new sewerage treatment works. NEC Option C.

Commercial Manager on £50m project (‘the Wanadoo Project’) to convert Wanadoo (part of France Telecom / Orange) from ISP using BT network to standalone provider. Finalise agreement of pricing structure with Wanadoo and manage post contract commercial and contractual issues. Liaise with Alcatel staff in UK and internationally and report on commercial recovery from Wanadoo.

Review of ‘legacy’ projects on London Underground to assess inherent risks prior to transfer of commercial responsibility from Metronet BCV and Metronet SSL to Trans4m Alliance.
