Rams QB – Media Availability – November 11, 2020

(On being able to disconnect during the break and using that time to recharge or if he was thinking about Seattle) "Yeah, a little bit of both. You really try to disconnect as best you can. Most times it's hard as a competitor. As a guy who's been doing this for a long time, you want to get back and get playing, especially as a result you don't love, but yeah, I was able to disconnect for a few days, absolutely, and kind of recharge the batteries."

(On what he is seeing from the Seahawks defense from watching film) "Yeah, they've obviously been banged up a little bit and made the move to go get (DE/LB Carlos) Dunlap (II) to give them some rush up the field but they're solid. They've done a good job. I think anytime you look at a guys like (LB) and (S) who are at the top of league in their positions, you have a lot of respect for that and it's a tough challenge every week for us and this week will be no different."

(On what he has to do to bounce back from the last game) "I just keep being me. Just keep working, keep getting better. Obviously, that game didn't go the way we wanted it to, but you're going to have those, and you try to limit them, but just bounce back and be myself."

(On pressure beating situations) "Yeah, it's part of practice. If we script it like that, it's just how practice goes. If we have certain plays, we rep them, if we don't, we don't."

(On the differences between games going well and the ones that don't) "Usually a lot more completions, a lot less turnovers, and taking care of the ball and being smarter with it. I think I've had the reflection of Miami for a long time ago and you guys are the first I've heard of it in about a week now. So, I was trying to really get rid of it (laughs) and I had time to reflect on it and got better from it. We all did and feel good move forward."

(On the disconnection between him and WR in the Miami game) "I think you can only really point to a couple of plays in that Miami game. I felt pretty good so far, the whole year with (WR) Cooper (Kupp) and really all receivers. I think for a multitude of reasons we were off in a lot of facets in Miami and again, myself mostly, but I feel great with Cooper."

(On what the energy is like around the building and locker room) "Yeah, it’s exciting. I think the bye week coupled with a home game against a division game gets us going, gets us excited. We've had a nice week to recharge. We're back now. We've got a big game against the leader in this division right now, and a game that we're excited to get out and go get after it. It'll be a challenge for us, but it's a fun one and we're excited for it."

(On characterizing his experiences playing against the Seahawks during his career) "Oh yeah. I mean, we've always really seemed to have really close games. I think back to maybe the only one, was the one where we actually were able to get after them pretty good up at their place. But other than that, it's really been one score, last drive, last play, type of games and it seems to be that way with most of the division, but them, always every year. They're a great team. They're a great offense. They're a great defense. They're great special teams. They're well coached and I like to think we are, too. So, it's always a good game and always exciting."

(On any place that the Seahawks stand out in his mind) "Yeah. The QB sneak a few years ago, that's a good one. Last year, actually seeing some of the stuff recently last year, I believe Todd (Gurley II) had that stiff-arm last year that could put us up a few scores. That's another big one. The turnover that Dante had a few years ago at home, it was a big one. Yeah, you remember some of those."

(On what makes the Seahawks defense dangerous) "Yeah, they are veterans. They've been around for a while. They've been doing this for a long time. Like I said, they're really well coached. (LB) Bobby (Wagner) runs the show over there and does a great job and I think (S) Jamal (Adams) added a fast to their defense they hadn't had in a year or so. They're tough. They're tough. They're going to be a tough challenge for us, but we were ready."

(When you get into a potential shoot-out game what it’s like for a QB) "You always are excited to hopefully score as many points as you can. Our goal is just to score more than the other team and whether it's got to be 38 or it's got to be 15 or 21, we'll do that. But, me and (Seahawks QB) Russell (Wilson) have had our fair share of shoot outs. If that's the case, we'll be ready, but I've got a lot of faith in our defense and I know that they do too.”

(On Seattle playing more man-coverage than previously and his confidence attacking man coverage) "Very confident. Those guys (Rams receivers) have done a good job against man coverage in the last few years since we've been together. I feel good with all of them, (WR) Josh (Reynolds (WR) Van (Jefferson), (TE Tyler) Higbee, (TE) Gerald (Everett), our running backs versus man. We love all the matches we can get. I think in particular, like you mentioned Cooper and Robert have done a great job.”

(On going against Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner so frequently and if they acknowledge each other of the field) "I've got a lot of respect for him and I'd like to think it's mutual. I think he's an incredible player. Like I said earlier in the year, I think him and Fred (Warner) with the Niners are the top two middle linebackers in the league, they're always a challenge. They're both extremely talented and Bobby’s been doing it for so long and is still so talented, still doing his thing. It's always fun to play against him because he is so good and is so smart.”

(On what Veterans Day and Salute to Service mean to him) "I think it's always a good reminder for the sacrifice a lot of people put their lives on the line and leave their family behind and go serve our country. You try to think about this daily and inevitably, you don’t. But today, a day like Veterans Day, you're able to actually really read stories and see people and talk to people and thank veterans and ask them about their service and do all the things that you always want to do. It's always a good reminder of that.”
