Forecast :- India Meteorological Department (IMD) Date Intensity Probability and Region Heavy to Very Very likely at isolated places over Telangana; Heavy to Heavy Rainfall at Very Heavy Rainfall with Extremely heavy falls at a few places with isolated places over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Konkan & Extremely Heavy Goa, Ghat Areas of Madhya Maharashtra and Coastal Falls Karnataka. Thunderstorm Very likely at isolated places over Andaman & Nicobar 22.07.2021 accompanied with Islands; with lightning & gusty wind(speed 30-40 kmph) lightning at isolated places over Telangana and with lightning at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and Rayalaseema. Maharashtra Flood Situation :- As per situation report received from SEOC, Maharashtra, due to heavy rainfall 04 districts namely Raigad, Ratnagiri, Palghar, Ratnagiri are affected. Evacuation work has been started by NDRF, SDRF and local administration. Brief about the current flood situation in Maharashtra is at- Annexure-I. 4. Total 122 Teams of NDRF have been prepositioned/ deployed across the country. State wise deployment is at –Annexure-II. 5. Today NIL reports received from 15 States/ UTs:- Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Andaman & Nicobar ,Chandigarh, Puducheri and Dadra & Nagar Haveli Daman & Diu. 6. Today situation report not received from 14 States/ UTs:- Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, Lakshadweep, Ladakh and Jammu & Srinagar. ******** Annexure-I Ministry of Home Affairs (National Emergency Response Centre) Brief about the current flood situation in Maharashtra as on 22.07.2021 at 1600 hrs. 1. Forecast of CWC Red Warning (Extreme Flood Situation) i. River Vashisti at Muradpur in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra continues to flow in EXTREME FLOOD SITUATION at 15:00 hrs today with Falling trend. ii. River Bav at Niivali in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra continues to flow in EXTREME FLOOD SITUATION at 15:00 hrs today with Rising trend. Orange Warning (Severe Flood Situation) i. River Ulhas at Badlapur in Thane district of Maharashtra continues to flow in SEVERE SITUATION at 12:00 hrs today with Falling trend. ii. River Savitri at Mahad in Raigad district of Maharashtra continues to flow in SEVERE SITUATION at 12:00 hrs today with Falling trend. 2. Forecast of IMD On 22.07.2021- Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall with Extremely heavy falls at isolated places over Maharashtra. 3. Current Status: - As per situation report received from SEOC, Maharashtra, due to heavy rainfall 04 districts namely Raigad, Ratnagiri, PalgharRatnagiriare affected. The details are as under: i. Ratnagiri: The towns of Chiplun and Khed have been completely inundated due to discharge from the Koyna dam and the rise in the levels of the Vashisti river. It is also feared that the contact from the town may be cut shortly due to communication channels being affected and the routes being inundated.NDRF and Coast Guard teams have been deployed and are enroute to the affected locations. The discharge from the Kolkewadi dam is still on which has resulted in wising waters in the said towns. The State Government also intimated that they have requested the Ministry of Defense for air support ii. Raigad: Due to Heavy rainfall areas in Raigad also being flooded. Karjat and Mahad areas have been inundated. An NDRF team has been deputed to Mahad for relief operations. However, as of now the situation in the district is under control. iii. Kolhapur: Heavy rainfall has caused inundation in some areas in Shahuwadi and Caganbawda. The Gaganbawda route to Sindhudurg has been closed. However, situation is under control. 2 teams of the NDRF have been deployed and are enroute. iv. Thane: Due to heavy rainfall, there was inundation in the parts of Kalyan and Bhiwandi. The NDRF teams have been deployed and the rescue work is in progress. The rains have abated and the situation is slowly improving. The waters are also receding at the moment.
