As you know, you’ll spend eight weeks (60 days) from June 23rd to August 18th ​ ​ ​ immersed in a global startup community partnered with the co-founders of an early stage company. As part of the program, you will: ● Complete a pre-departure curriculum which prepares you for your experience at a startup o Substantive “startup skills” modules software tools and resources o Professional networking module o Professional mission statement and career development ● Immerse yourself professionally and culturally in a foreign city, including a two-day orientation, and weekly professional networking events, workshops, and visits to startup companies and local government organizations ● Complete substantive consulting projects with local entrepreneurs; please note that you will NOT ​ work directly for a company - you are not employed by the local entrepreneurs, as you are an external Sage Corps volunteer student consultant. Accordingly, you are not eligible for, nor will receive, a salary or any sort of employment benefits from the local entrepreneurs. ​ We will also provide accommodations with easy access to the primary business district, cultural sites, and public transportation. In addition, you will have international travel medical insurance, and access to a locally-contracted Sage Corps City Manager who is available to help you. Sage Corps will push you to maximize your college abroad experience – you’ll learn about a foreign startup community and culture beyond the typical tourist sites. Many places in Hong Kong will be ​cash-only​. You can take out money at the airport or transfer money at your local bank before departure.     Chapter 7: Healthcare in Hong Kong The Hong Kong Hospital Authority The Hong Kong Hospital Authority (HA) is responsible for managing all local public hospitals in Hong Kong. Staff of the HA can communicate in Chinese (mainly the Cantonese dialect) and / or English. If interpretation is needed for other languages, the HA will use reasonable endeavours to arrange for patients free interpretation services provided by third parties / consulates. TRAFFIC SURVEY AND SUPPORT DIVISION August 2019 © THE GOVERNMENT OF THE HONG KONG SPECIAL ADMINISTRATIVE REGION SUMMARY During the year 2018, the annual average daily traffic (A.A.D.T.) in the territory showed the following changes as compared with that of 2017: General There were 784 434 vehicles licensed in Hong Kong at the end of 2018, representing an increase of 2.38% when compared with the corresponding figure in 2017. This total accounted for 90.7% of the number of registered vehicles. The highest percentage increase was found in private light bus, with a growth of 9.0%. There were 565 213 private cars licensed at the end of 2018. The number of franchised buses licensed was 6 151, an increase of 2.8% over 2017. The total number of goods vehicles licensed in 2018 was 117 567, showing an increase of 2.5% over 2017. During the year, road travel in the territory amounted to 38.25 million vehicle- kilometres per day. Of this total, 6.00 million vehicle-kilometres occurred on Hong Kong Island while 8.53 million vehicle-kilometres and 23.72 million vehicle- kilometres occurred in Kowloon and the New Territories respectively.
