HR 3374 - NOTICE OF INTRODUCTION Pursuant to the provisions of Rule 13, Section 9(f) of the House Rules, the chair announced the introduction of HRi3374, suspending the limitations on the conferees for SBi866. HR 3425 - NOTICE OF INTRODUCTION Pursuant to the provisions of Rule 13, Section 9(f) of the House Rules, the chair announced the introduction of HRi3425, suspending the limitations on the conferees for HBi3123. HR 3387 - NOTICE OF INTRODUCTION Pursuant to the provisions of Rule 13, Section 9(f) of the House Rules, the chair announced the introduction of HRi3387, suspending the limitations on the conferees for SBi55. HR 3394 - NOTICE OF INTRODUCTION Pursuant to the provisions of Rule 13, Section 9(f) of the House Rules, the chair announced the introduction of HRi3394, suspending the limitations on the conferees for HBi189. HR 3137 - ADOPTED (by C. Turner) Representative C. Turner moved to suspend all necessary rules to take up and consider at this time HRi3137. The motion prevailed. The following resolution was laid before the house: HR 3137, Congratulating the girls 'track team from Seguin High School in Arlington on winning the Class 5A girls track and field state championship at thei2015 UIL Track & Field State Meet. HR 3137 was adopted. On motion of Representative Krause, the names of all the members of the house were added to HRi3137 as signers thereof. INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS The chair recognized Representative C. Turner who introduced representatives of the Seguin High School girls 'track team. HR 3419 - ADOPTED (by S. Thompson) Representative S. Thompson moved to suspend all necessary rules to take up and consider at this time HRi3419. The motion prevailed. Saturday, May 30, 2015 HOUSE JOURNAL Ð 84th Day 5575 The following resolution was laid before the house: HR 3419, In memory of the Honorable Gordon "Doc" Arnold, Jr., of Austin. HR 3419 was read and was unanimously adopted by a rising vote. INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS The chair recognized Representative S. Thompson who introduced family members of the Honorable Gordon "Doc" Arnold, Jr. RESOLUTIONS ADOPTED Representative McClendon moved to suspend all necessary rules to take up and consider at this time the following congratulatory resolutions. These tests help us determine your child’s progress from year to year and are also used as one of the measures to determine if your child is prepared to be promoted. They are VERY important tests and your child should get plenty of rest the night before the test and get a good breakfast. K – 2nd Grade: In-School Learners will take their Cognitive Abilities test Monday – Friday (March 8 - 12). 3-8th Grade: Will test on both ITBS and Cognitive Abilities Tuesday & Wednesday, March 9 & 10th. This testing will be for both At-Home Learners and In-School Learners. At-Home Learners need to be at school by 7:45. Softball/Baseball: Come out and support our girls’ softball and our boys’ baseball teams. These are the upcoming games, please note dates and times of games are subject to change after the printing of this bulletin.     LOU BATSON PRESNAL March 19, 1939 - May 25, 2017 Lou Batson Presnal, 78, of Bryan, Texas passed away on May 25, 2017. Her family will receive friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 2, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Bryan. Lou was born on March 19, 1939, in Madisonville, Texas, and grew up in Normangee with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was the daughter of Joe and Maurene (Greer) Batson. She was an accomplished pianist and singer, and lettered three years in volleyball, basketball, and cheerleading. Lou was the valedictorian of Normangee High School in 1957. Lou is lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Henry L. (Sonny) Presnal. Sonny was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army, and they were married on June 1, 1957. They were stationed in Germany from 1960-1963 where Sonny served as an Army Aviator. Lou loved being an Army wife. After Sonny's military service, they returned to Texas, Sonny attended veterinary school, and they raised their family in Bryan. Their time overseas sparked a lifetime interest in travel, and Lou and Sonny traveled to England, Egypt, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Turkey, Greece, Sweden, Denmark, Croatia, Estonia, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Monaco, Russia, and Israel, and all over the United States. She especially loved going to Las Vegas. Lou was passionate about fashion, inspired by a favorite aunt. She loved music, was a beautiful singer, and encouraged her children to study music.

    MESSAGE f r o m t h e FOUNDER the Terry Foundation approaches its twenty-fifth JL JL anniversary next year, a modest beginning in 1986 has evolved into the states largest private source of scholarship funding for eight Texas public universities. After its first seventeen years at the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University, the Foundation expanded in 2004 to include Scholars at the University of Houston and at Texas State University-San Marcos. Later in 2006, the program expanded again to the University of Texas at San Antonio and the University of Texas at Dallas, and again in the fall of 2010 to the University of North Texas in Denton. In 2010, the Board of Directors approved additional growth for the Terry Foundation Scholarship Program to Texas Tech University in Lubbock. The first Scholars for Texas Tech were selected at interviews in April 2011 and will begin college in the fall of 2011. The Foundation is pleased to welcome this outstanding institution to the Terry program. Howard L. Terry This past April, the Foundation selected 200 new 2011 Scholars. This will bring the total number of active Terry Scholars at all eight universities to 698. The spring of 2011 also brought graduation to 133 Terry Scholars who join a growing body of Scholar Alumni that now numbers over 1,600. Our growing family of graduates are serving their communities in virtually every occupation and field of service imaginable. We greatly appreciate the many letters we get from our alumni around the world. In October of 2010, the Foundation was honored by the National Association of Scholarship Providers at its annual conference in Denver by being selected as the National Scholarship Provider of the Year.

    1 The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) developed a Student-Athlete Oath for the 2009-2010 academic and athletic year. The oath outlines the expectations accepted by all UMHB Student-Athletes and also details the pride those student- athletes feel to be a part of Cru Athletics. Student-athletes will begin using the oath for the fi rst time in the fall of 2009 and it will become a prominent and permanent part of the UMHB Student-Athlete experience. After its first seventeen years at the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University, the Foundation expanded in 2004 to include Scholars at the University of Houston and at Texas State University-San Marcos. In 2005, the Board of Directors approved additional growth for the Terry Foundation Scholarship Program to the University of Texas at San Antonio and the University of Texas at Dallas. The first Scholars for UT-Dallas and UT-San Antonio were selected at interviews in April, 2006. These Scholars completed their first year of college in the spring of 2007. In April, the Foundation selected a total of 197 new 2007 Scholars, a record high.
