If we asked the kids in the audience today, what is their favorite TV show, it wouldn’t be surprising to fi nd out that The Fairly OddParents is near the top of many of their lists. But with the Condors players being slightly older than the average age of The Fairly OddPar- ents viewership, Nightly Notes decided to ask them what they considered their favorite TV Show. Nearly all of the shows listed by the players are current, with some sharing the same show. Listed most frequently was HBO’s “Entourage.” A total of fi ve players (G Justin Pogge, D Sasha Pokulok, D Ray Eichenlaub, RW Erick Lizon, RW Stephane Goulet) listed the comedy starring Jeremy Piven as their top show. “It’s a funny show,” said Eichenlaub of ‘Entourage.” “It reminds me of my buddies back home.” Also receiving multiple votes were Fox’s “House, M.D., starring Hugh Laurie as a highly gifted, but very cynical doctor, and Showtime’s “Californication.” F Andrew Ianiero and LW Logan MacMillan listed “House,” while G Timo Pielmeier and D John de Gray se- lected “Californication.” “I picked Californication because David Duchovny’s character on the show is the funniest on TV,” said de Gray. Other shows may have only received one vote, like “Cash Cab,” but it has more than its fair share of fans on the team. “Cash Cab” is an “on-the-move” game show that takes place in New York City. Unsuspecting contestants hail a cab believing it’s a normal NYC Taxi, but instead, the driver is in fact the host of a trivia show. The customers select their destination, and continue to move to their fi nal destination, plus rack up more money with each right answer. Three incorrect answers brings them back to zero dollars and a one-way ticket out of the cab. On a recent Condors road trip, an episode of “Cash Cab” came on the television and a number of the players rushed over to watch, shouting out answers and getting highly involved with the show. Whether it’s a comedy, drama, game show or kids show, television has something for everyone, young and old, hockey player or fan. It’s a commonality that brings us all together.
