Kolenati (Heteroptera) I.M. Kerzhner Kerzhner, I.M. 2003. Type specimens of Coreoidea and Pentatomoidea described by F.A. Kolenati (Heteroptera). Zoosystematica Rossica, 12(1): 93-98. Lectotypes are designated for 23 Kolenati’s species and varieties in the Museum of Natu- ral History, Vienna. The synonymies of Rhabdocoris arcuata Kolenati, 1845 with Lepto- corisa acuta (Thunberg, 1783) and of Eurydema armeniacum Kolenati, 1846 with E. fieberi Fieber, 1837 are restored. The following new synonymies are established: Liorhyssus hyalinus (Fabricius, 1794) = Corizus rubescens Kolenati, 1845; Sehirus luctuosus Mulsant & Rey, 1866, nomen protectum = Cydnus affinis var. ibericus Kolenati, 1846, nomen oblitum; Geotomus elongatus (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1840) = Cydnus caucasicus Kolenati, 1846 (G. ciliatitylus Signoret, 1881 is a good species, not synonymous with C. caucasicus); Eurygaster integriceps Puton, 1881, nomen protectum = E. hottentotta var. obliqua Kolenati, 1846, nomen oblitum. • Štys P. the Stridulatory Mechanism in Centrocoris Spiniger (F.)
ACTA ENTOMOLOGICA MUSEI NATIONALIS PRAGAE 1 9 6 1, X X X I V, 59 2 !--- THE STRIDULATORY MECHANISM IN CENTROCORIS SPINIGER (F.) AND SOME OTHER CQREIDAE (HETEROPTERA) PAVEL STYS (Chair of Systematic Zoology, Charles University, Praha) Introduction · Leston (1957) has summarized the knowledge of stridulatory mecha- . nisms in terrestrial species of Heteroptera. The ability to stridulate was ascertained in 11 terrestrial families of bugs, and 14 types of stridulatory organs have already been registered. In a number of groups (Acanthoso midae, some subfamilies of Pentatomidae, Coreidae) the ability to stridu late was ascertained, but the stridulatory mechanisms have not yet been discovered. It follows from the Leston's summary that the ability to stridulate was alreadyregistered in 3 genera of the family Coreidae: Phyllomorpha Lap., Spathocera Stein and Centrocoris Kolen. However, the stridulatory mechanism is still not known in any of these genera*). Saunders (1893) had noticed that Centrocoris spiniger (Fabricius, 1781) "stridulates loudly", but he did not give more particulars. During my excursion to the western coast of the Caucasus in June 1960 I had an opportunity to collect the mentioned species, to observe its stridulation and to discover its stridulatory meC1hanism. Field observations Centrocoris spiniger (F.) is very common insect on the western coast of the Caucasus. In the period 21st to 28th June 1960 I found it many times (also in copula) in several places near the towns Tuapse and Sochi, always associated with its host-plant Anthemis tinctoria L. (det. V. Ska licky). I failed to hear stridulation of the free specimens on the plants.

© Zool.-Bot. Ges. Österreich, Austria; download unter www.zobodat.at Acta ZooBot Austria 155, 2018, 251–256 Snapshot of the terrestrial true bug fauna of the Pocem floodplains (Insecta: Hemiptera: Heteroptera) Wolfgang Rabitsch 61 terrestrial true bug (Heteroptera) species are reported from a short field trip in April 2017 along the river Vjosa in the Pocem floodplains, Albania. Five species are reported for the first time for Albania, indicating insufficient baseline information on the distribution of true bugs in the region. Future sampling designs should consider the interstitial habitats, river gravel and sand banks, and adjacent dry grassland areas. Certain difficulties aside, true bugs are a significant group of insect species with de- scriptive and indicative value. Keywords: Albania, floodplain, Heteroptera, new records, riparian, river. Introduction True bugs (Insecta: Hemiptera: Heteroptera) are well-known descriptors and indicators of terrestrial and aquatic habitats and their ecological quality (Duelli & Obrist 1998, Achtziger et al. 2007, Rabitsch 2008, Skern et al. 2010). Due to their diversity of feeding habits, life-histories, biology, and preferred habitats, true bugs are a meaningful addition to any Environmental Impact Assessment (e.g.

ABSTRACT This catalog presents the 54 species of Coreidae, 4 of Alydidae and 12 of Rhopalidae presently known from Nicaragua, with host plants and natural enemies. file:///C|/My%20Documents/REVISTA/REV%2025/25%20Coreoidea.htm (1 of 22) [10/11/2002 05:49:48 p.m.] Rev * Museo Entomológico, S.E.A., A.P. 527, León, Nicaragua.

The contents of each chapter generally reflect the special interests of the contributors. Some have presented a detailed taxonomic review of the families concerned; some have referred the readers to standard taxonomic works, in view of the breadth and complexity of the subject concerned, and have concentrated on ecological or physiological aspects; others have chosen to review insects of a specific set of habitats.
