Aalborg University STUDENTS Cristian Voicu (20180685) Ida Marie Stenumgaard (20181122) SUPERVISOR Birthe Mousten Nielsen CHARACTERS: 281,574 PREFACE The thesis is made from an interest concerning a Danish TV networks’ decision to use the message of connectedness and diversity as part of their brand identity. We find is interesting to research why TV 2 decided to do this and further, how they did it. In addition to this, we want to see how the Danish consumers interact with this message and, given the large international response to the campaign and its message, we also want to investigate the international viewers' perception of the campaign. We want to give a special thanks to the 12 respondents and to Vicky Wassman Dahi who participated in our data collection and contributed with interesting and essential meanings and insights to our research. Further, we want to thank our supervisor, Birthe, for her perspectives and constructive feedback. We hope you enjoy the reading. Application by the EFTA States participating in the EEA 1.1 Iceland European works The seven covered channels broadcast an average of 39.6% European works in 2007 and 42.2% in 2008. This represents a 2.6 percentage point increase over the reference period. For 2007 and 2008, of the total of seven covered channels, three channels achieved the majority proportion specified in Article 4 of the Directive (Omega Television, RUV and Syn - Vision TV), while four channels didn't meet this target (Sirkus, Skjár 1, Stöð 2 and Stöð 2 Bio). The compliance rate, in terms of numbers of channels, was 42.9%. European works made by independent producers The average proportion of European works by independent producers on all reported channels was 10.7% in 2007 and 12.6% in 2008, representing a 1.9 percentage points increase over the reference period. In 2007, of the total of seven identified channels, two channels exceeded the minimum proportion under Article 5 of the Directive, while three channels remained below the target. One channel was exempted (Syn - Vision TV) and no data was communicated for another one (Omega Television). The compliance rate, in terms of number of channels, was 33.3%. For 2008, of the total of seven covered channels, three exceeded the minimum proportion specified in Article 5 of the Directive, while two channels were below the target (Skjár 1 and Stöð 2 Bio). No data were communicated for two channels. -

Little or no progress has been made in improving body image over the past decade indicating that a radical rethink is necessary; 2. There is substantial evidence that a more relaxed attitude towards the body would result in significant improvements and there is no evidence of any deleterious effects; 3. Policy is not going to work unless firmly evidence-based and that must take precedence over fear of causing offence; 4. Significant improvements are possible at little or no cost. British Naturism 5. Naturism is everyday life without any requirement for clothing. There are many motivations for practising Naturism including freedom, convenience, comfort, health, and belief.1 6. British Naturism (BN) is the internationally recognised UK national naturist organisation. We exist to unite and support naturists, to protect, and provide more naturist venues, to make social nudity acceptable in the UK and to provide comprehensive information on naturism and naturists around the world. We have over 9000 active members and represent over 4 million naturists nationwide. BN is a member of the International Naturist Federation which covers 37 countries worldwide. 7. We have been working on body image and body knowledge related issues for at least twenty years. 8. We are grateful to the Committee for accepting a late submission from us. Overview 9. The seriousness of the poor body image problem is now better appreciated than it was, but comparisons with past government reports2 show that disturbingly little progress, if any, has been made. It is unlikely that continuing with the same strategies will produce the significant improvements necessary, and a radical rethink is required.
