It is not possible anymore. We have to think of initiating a new format of rallying in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. And that’s what Kenya means for me. “When I am here, people ask me ‘Is this the first time?’ I say: ‘Not the first time. I think I have been here over 30 times; for rallying and for pleasure, because it is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. If you go to Mt Kenya, if you are going to the sea, Malindi, Mombasa, Lamu … I mean it is a much diversified country with beautiful people.

Before I underline the team’s hopes and expectations for this event, I wish to acknowledge all the hard work that’s gone into putting on this rally in such a short amount of time. The efforts of AKK Sports and all the volunteers, particularly in the context of COVID-19, has really impressed me so a big thank you to them. It’s fair to say we showed our limits on Rallye Monte-Carlo and found ourselves licking our wounds and trying to get ahead. Unfortunately, it didn’t work there and after making some changes to our approach we start the second round of the season hoping it will be much better than the first. Having wished a fond farewell to Carlos del Barrio after Monte as he prepared for the next chapter of his career, we are pleased to welcome back Craig and Paul for the start of their half-season campaign in a Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. We know very well their ability and determination as they try to make a strong start to their season. As well as our regular World Rally Car drivers, we are giving a big chance to a really promising youngster, Oliver Solberg.

In 1901 nam een L&K-motorfiets gebouwd door Václav Laurin en Václav Klement, oprichters van het bedrijf, deel aan een 1.200 kilometer lange race van de Franse hoofdstad Parijs tot het Duitse Berlijn. Vier jaar later al stapte L&K over van twee naar vier wielen en werd het ook een vaste waarde in de autosport. ŠKODA bouwde verder op hoogtepunten zoals een reeksoverwinning in de Rally van Monte Carlo en de 24 uur van Spa Francorchamps (België) en kon in de jaren 1970 en 1980 nog meer overwinningen vieren op racecircuits en rallyparcours.     2030 RALLYCAR PROJECT TRANSPORTATION DESIGN THESIS 2016 HENRI HOKKANEN LAHTI UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES © Henri Hokkanen 2016 Abstrakti Vuonna 1986 suomen kirkkain rallilupaus Henri Toivonen menehtyi onnettomuudessa Korsikan rallissa. Siitä kaksi vuotta eteenpäin kes- ki-suomessa tuoreet vanhemmat päätyivät nimeämään esikoisensa tämän rallilupauksen mukaan. Autot kiinnosti Henriä aina, vaikkei rallin am- mattilaista hänestä tullutkaan. VHS-nauhureissa pyöri lastenohjelmien sijaan lähinnä Juha Kankkusesta tehtyjä rallivideoita. Tommi Mäkinen oli Henrille ensimmäinen rallin supertähti. Jyväskylän suurajot oli niin iso tapahtuma pienelle pojalle, että ei sitä voinut ollenkaan käsittää, että mi- ten voi nähdä samat autot luonnossa, mitkä aiemmin näki vain televisiossa. Myöhemmällä iällä Henristä tuli kuitenkin ajamisen ammattilainen, vaikkei työkaluna ralliauto ollutkaan. Ajamisen lisäksi myös piirtäminen kävi helposti ja vilkas mielikuvitus vei monenlaisiin seikkailuihin. Nyt seikkailut ovat vieneet Henrin Lahteen opiskelemaan ajoneuvomuotoilua. Jos ei tiedä tämän opinnäytetyön aihetta vielä, niin nyt siitä alkaa varmaan olemaan jo pieni aavistus. Abstract In 1986 finnish professional rallycar driver Henri Toivonen died in a crash in Corsica rally. After two years recently became parents in middle-fin- land named their first child after him. Henri was always interested about cars, but still he didn’t became professional rallycar driver. During his childhood years, he used to watch rallyvideos about Juha Kankkunen instead of any other kids shows. Tommi Mäkinen was his first rally super- star. Jyväskylän suurajot (finnish rally before neste rally finland) was so big event for a little child like Henri, that he couldn’t understand that how it is possible to see those cars in real life, what hwe has seen before only in television.
