Post Office & Shop

Opening Times Mon-Fri 9 – 1 and 2 – 5.30. Sat 9 – 12.30. The shop stocks basic essentials, an excellent range of greetings cards and wrapping paper and offers a newspaper delivery service Monday – Saturday. Tel: 01423 331062

Green Hammerton Recreational Charity

The Recreational Charity (GHRC) was formed to facilitate the creation of Green Hammerton Playing Field and Village Hall. Its role is to ensure the facilities continue to service the ever changing needs of the villagers. GHRC holds the keys to the Village Hall and can arrange bookings for regular or one off activities or events. GHRC Social Committee organises events such as charity auctions, open gardens, quizzes and themed evenings throughout the year. Please see the Recreational Charity notice board located opposite the pub for updates.

Book Club

Green Hammerton Readers form a book club which meets to discuss a wide range of contemporary and classic fiction. Meetings are very informal and members contribute as much or as little as they wish. Books are mostly supplied free of charge by North CC library services. There is a small subscription fee to cover the cost of the hall. Coffee Morning/ Book Exchange

Bad Apple Theatre

This group brings live theatre to the Village Hall several times a year. Look out for posters.

West of Ouse oil Syndicate

Buy your heating fuel cheaper through the syndicate. Email [email protected] for details of how to join.

Helenfield is a local woodland area and nature reserve with a pond and public footpath. The area has been preserved for public enjoyment and to protect wildlife. The Parish Council are custodians and Alistair Taylor and his team of helpers maintain and care for this very special place given to the Parish Council by James Leather in memory of his late wife Helen.

Village View is a bi-monthly news sheet updating residents with information from the village.
