E-mails: [email protected] & [email protected] 2 University of 08 mai 1945, Guelma, Algeria 3 Biology Department, University of Annaba, Annaba, Algeria RÉSUMÉ.— Facteurs environnementaux influençant les communautés d’Odonates de trois rivières méditerranéennes : les oueds Kebir-Est, Seybouse et Rumel, nord-est algérien.— Les Odonates sont une composante importante des peuplements des milieux lotiques et leur abondance et diversité renseignent sur l’intégrité écologique de ces hydrosystèmes. L’inventaire odonatologique de trois oueds majeurs algériens : Kebir- Est, Seybouse et Rhumel, a permis l’identification de 40 espèces. Nos résultats révèlent la présence de Calopteryx exul, endémique maghrébin, dans l’oued Seybouse et semblent confirmer l’extinction de la population type dans l’oued Rhumel où l’espèce avait été découverte au XIXe siècle. Nos résultats indiquent également l’expansion de plusieurs espèces: Coenagrion caerulescens, Orthetrum nitidinerve, Trithemis kirbyi et Urothemis edwardsii dont la population relictuelle est en danger critique d’extinction. La mesure de diverses variables physicochimiques (altitude, température, conductivité, etc.) nous a permis d’explorer une possible co-structure entre les jeux de données faunistiques et de variables environnementales. L’analyse des données indique que la richesse spécifique est, selon l’oued, variablement correlée à l’hydropériode, à la conductivité et à la température de l’eau, suggérant son utilité dans l’évaluation de l’intégrité écologique des cours d’eau méditerranéens. -

In this study, we rediscovered some snake species after quite a long time during the fieldwork in 2014 and 2015 on Gökçeada (Imbros). Natrix tessellata (Laurenti, 1768), which was found in Kaleköy, and Elaphe sauromates (Pallas, 1811), which was detected and photographed around the Education and Resting Association, Ministry of Justice, Republic of Turkey in the vicinity of Şirinköy, were new records for the island’s snake fauna. All specimens except E. sauromates (Pallas, 1811), were found dead in the field. Morphological features of N. tessellata were examined in detail and results were compared with previous studies. Locality information and measurable and countable features of the other specimens are given. Key words: Reptilia, Snakes, new record, rediscovery, Imbros, Gökçeada, Turkey. Email: [email protected] 12 13 Abstract 14 We present a neotectonic model of ongoing lithosphere deformation and a 15 corresponding estimate of long-term shallow seismicity across the Africa-Eurasia plate 16 boundary, including the eastern Atlantic, Mediterranean region, and continental Europe. 17 GPS and stress data are absent or inadequate for the part of the study area covered by 18 water. Thus, we opt for a dynamic model based on the stress-equilibrium equation; this 19 approach allows us to estimate the long-term behavior of the lithosphere (given certain 20 assumptions about its structure and physics) for both land and sea areas. We first update 21 the existing plate model by adding five quasi-rigid plates (the Ionian Sea, Adria, 22 Northern Greece, Central Greece, and Marmara) to constrain the deformation pattern of 23 the study area. We use the most recent datasets to estimate the lithospheric structure. 24 The models are evaluated in comparison with updated datasets of geodetic velocities 25 and the most compressive horizontal principal stress azimuths. -

From abandonment to regeneration. - The Italian legislation on cultural heritage introduced, a few years ago, the concept of enhancement and enjoyment of cultural heritage through the outsourcing of cultural assistance and hospitality services for the public. Particularly, the national Project "Valore Paese" of the Agenzia del Demanio is dedicated to lighthouses and it intends to encourage the promotion of the Italian public real estate through the synergy between the sectors of tourism, art and culture, economic and territorial cohesion. In this sense, the recovery of public assets owned by the State and local authorities has the possibility to be considered not only in terms of cost to the community, but also as a significant lever for territorial and social development, in a logic of public- private partnership. 1. This is to it’s credit. The range of islands has no objective unity, and deserted islands have even less. The deserted island may indeed have extremely poor soil. Deserted, the is- land may be a desert, but not necessarily. The real desert is uninhabited only insofar as it presents no conditions that by rights would make life possible, weather vegetable, animal, or human. On the contrary, the lack of inhabitants on the deserted island is a pure fact due to the circumstance, in other words, the island’s surroundings. The island is what the sea surrounds. What is de- serted is the ocean around it. Arregui University of Barcelona Porcine Proto-Ecologies: Activating an Infra-Species Cosmopolitics The increasing movement of wild-boars between the Collserola forests and the periphery of Barcelona is problematizing not only dual categories of pigs as species (e.g. wild vs. domestic), but also the boundaries of what is commonly understood as a ‚city‘ (e.g. urban vs. rural). The transit of wild boars between different ecological niches—which transforms these niches themselves—is traceable from at least three scales of anthropogenic influence: On a global, climatologic scale, wild boars proliferate due to global warming (Vetter et al. 2015). On a geographically localized level, wild boars are ‚invited‘ into the city by food availability in trash, pet feeding spots, water reservoirs, etc. At the scale of interactions between individuals, it becomes evident that, while some citizens ‚care‘ for the wild boars (e.g. petting or feeding them), other reject them for being ‚wild‘, ‚dangerous‘ and ‚dirty‘ animals. -

Over 10,500 names are treated including 6,793 valid species and subspecies (with 1,907 primary synonyms), 1,271 genera and subgenera (with 393 primary synonyms), 93 families and 38 superfamilies. Nomenclatural and taxonomic problems are reviewed in detail, and many resolved. Detailed notes and references are provided where necessary. The constitution of a large number of families and superfamilies is discussed in detail, with the positions of some taxa rearranged in an attempt to form a stable base for future taxonomic studies. This is the first time the nomenclature of any large group of decapod crustaceans has been examined in such detail.
