As the only the coastal fishery port in the regency it is expected to provide support in the development of regional economy. This research intended to study the status of management sustainability in Dagho coastal fishing port and analyze policy directions in sustainability management of the coastal fishing port Dagho. Research results showed that the status of sustainability management of the coastal fishing port Dagho belongs to the category of less sustainable fisheries. Towards a policy of management of coastal fishing port Dagho port management is attainment of sustainability according to economic and institutional functions. Crude extracts of Kappaphycus alvarezii algae cultivated in several seaweed production centers in North Sulawesi, Indonesia as immunostimulant Reni L. Kreckhoff, Edwin L. A. Ngangi, Suzanne L. Undap, Diane J. Kusen Study Program of Aquaculture, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Sam Ratulangi University, Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Corresponding author: R. L. Kreckhoff, [email protected] Abstract. The use of natural ingredients as immunostimulants to improve fish immunity continues to develop. This study is to determine the quality of Kappaphycus alvarezii extract from 3 cultivation locations in North Sulawesi and to compare the amount of carrageenan between non-ATC and ATC products in the form of SRC (Semi Refined Carrageenan). As immunostimulant, antioxidant activity was tested to measure IC50 of antioxidant activity. Results showed that there were differences in the quality of K. alvarezii extracts among 3 research locations. The highest carrageenan content was found Likupang NSMEC, 63.80% for non-ATC seaweed and 64.43% for the SRC, respectively. The percent of carrageenan content from Arakan Village was the lowest, 44.43% for non-ATC and 52.55% for SRC, respectively, while Talengen Bay had 46.14% for non-ATC and 57.16% for SRC. Alkaline treatment (SRC) can increase the percent of carrageenan. K. alvarezii extract is known to have bioactive ingredients as immunostimulants. The best antioxidant activity was recorded in the extract from Arakan -1 -1 Village with IC50 value of 22.04 µg mL , followed by Talengen Bay, 27.6 µg mL , and NSMEC, 28.45 µg -1 -1 mL , respectively. The IC50 value is very strong because it is <50µg mL .

Esry H. Laoh Melissa L. G. Tarore ABSTRACT This study aims to find out how far the limits of city influence on the surrounding area (case study: Manado City, Bitung City, Tomohon City, and Kotamobagu City). The data used in this research is secondary data. The variables measured in this study include population (soul) and distance (km). In this research the analysis used is Breaking Point. The study took place from October to April starting from preparation, data collection, to the production of research results. The location of the research was conducted in Manado City. The results showed that the development of City Region (BWK) of Manado City, Bitung, Tomohon, and Kotamobagu, has different influence limits. BWK Manado City Center has a stronger boundary of influence over Airmadidi, Tondano Utara, Bitung and Amurang areas. BWK Bitung City Center has stronger limits of influence, especially on Kauditan and Airmadidi areas. While the area of Manado has lower influence limits. The limits of influence of BWK Tomohon City Center have a stronger boundary effect on North Tondano and Sonder areas. While the area of Manado has lower influence limits. Similarly, the Influence Limits of BWK Kotamobagu City Center has a stronger influence limit on the Amurang and Tutuyan areas. Then the relationship of the four cities shows that Manado City has more influence than Bitung, Tomohon and Kotamobagu.

  • Revisiting Marine Bioprospecting of Tropical Indonesian Macroalgae from West Timor
REVISITING MARINE BIOPROSPECTING OF TROPICAL INDONESIAN MACROALGAE FROM WEST TIMOR Turupadang, Welem Linggi A thesis submitted to Victoria University of Wellington in fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Chemistry. Victoria University of Wellington 2018 Abstract Marine algae are an important and historically rich source of new marine-based natural products. This thesis describes the screening of 40 Indonesian macroalgal samples using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) based molecular networking, and the subsequent nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)-guided isolation and structural elucidation of a 6-deoxy-6-aminoglycoglyrecolipid (60). Molecular networking was performed using LC-MS/MS data through the online Global Natural Product Social Molecular Networking (GNPS) platform directly from crude extracts. NMR spectroscopy-guided screening was also employed targeting unique peaks detected by 1H NMR to validate any hits from GNPS. Out of 40 macroalgae specimens collected from West Timor waters, six samples were prioritised by the molecular networking screening. Proton NMR revealed three specimens with significantly interesting peaks but only one specimen, Laurencia snackeyi was purified further, which yielded compound 60. i Acknowledgements I am humbly grateful to Abba Father throughout my study at Victoria University of Wellington, how much knowledge and experience that has been passed on by academics (especially during my formative year doing my graduate Diploma), fellow students and postgrads, as well as technicians over the past two-and-a-half year in the School of Chemical and Physical Sciences (SCPS). Thank you very much. My fabulous supervisor Dr Rob Keyzers, thank you for your guidance, patience and wisdom; also, for being a guru and mentor during my study; I benefit not only academically and through laboratory skills but also how you have inspired me to be a good teacher and serve students from different backgrounds.
