​Dyk Ned I Sludge-Riget Med Mægtige Eyehategod 2019-06-05 10:00 CEST Dyk ned i sludge-riget med mægtige Eyehategod VEGA præsenterer Dyk ned i sludge-riget med mægtige Eyehategod Den 6. oktober kan du opleve legenderne fra New Orleans, når de skruer helt op for deres unikke mix af punk og metal i VEGA. Eyehategod startede tilbage i 1988 deres tunge eksperimenter med bluesede og distortede guitarer. Siden har det genredefinerende band fået spillesteder verden over til at ryste med deres dystre mix af punk og metal, som deres karismatiske frontmand kalder heavy blues. Fra 2000 og 2014 var bandet hårdt ramt af orkanødelæggelser, afhængighed, depressioner og til slut trommeslager Joey LaCazes tidlige død i 2013. Men året efter rejste bandet sig med et potent selvbetitlet album, der høstede store roser hos anmeldere verden over. Trommeslageren fra Mountain of Wizard og Missing Monuments, Aaron Hill, overtog efter LaCaze, og han har på fornemmeste vis løftet arven videre med indlevende, energisk trommespil, der indkapsler bandets karakteristiske lyd. Med skarpskårede guitarriffs fra Jimmy Bower og Brian Patton, tordnende trommer og Mike Williams dæmoniske vokal skaber bandet et kakofonisk lydunivers. Future generations will fuck up again THE OUTPATIENTS got started in 1982 by Deep Wound bassist Scott Helland At least we can try and change the one we’re in and his older brother Eric “Vis” Helland, guitarist/vocalist of Mace — a 1980-82 — Deep Wound, “Deep Wound” Metal group that played like Motörhead but dug Black Flag (a rare blend back then). The Outpatients opened for bands like EAST COAST Black Flag, Hüsker Dü and SSD. CROWBAR began in 1988 as the brainchild of Windstein and multi-instrumentalist Jimmy Bower (also of Eyehategod and Down), with an eye to playing slow and — most importantly — low. “When we started the band, thrash was at its peak,” Windstein recalls. “Then Jimmy and I started rediscovering Black Sabbath and Saint Vitus and bands like that. We started tuning to D and then C and then B and even A on some songs. It was all about how much low-end we could get out of it.” Bower split CROWBAR in 1990, only to return to the drum pulpit for 1996’s Broken Glass and 1998’s Odd Fellows Rest , the latter of which also featured Goatwhore’s Sammy Duet on second guitar.
