LIVE AUCTION Lot 1: Honorees’ Lot: O’Shaughnessy Estate Winery Dinner Party Featuring Thomas Keller Dinner for 10 at O’Shaughnessy Estate Winery prepared by celebrity chef Thomas Keller Exclusive wines from O’Shaughnessy Estate Winery and Paul Woolls’ celebrated cellar Limo transportation to and from event by Verve Napa Valley. Thomas Keller is arguably one of the finest chefs in the world—the only American-born chef to hold multiple three star ratings by the Michelin Guide—and for this lot, he’s packing his knives and whites and heading up Howell Mountain. His destination? O’Shaughnessy Estate Winery, acclaimed for its wines— particularly its mountain Cabernets. Both Thomas and Betty O’Shaughnessy are known for their high standards for the food and wine they respectively produce, and this collaboration should translate into an experience that takes the term “dinner party” to a new level. The setting, located above St. Helena, is as stunning as the menu and wines. The stone and glass structure of the winery blends harmoniously with the beauty of the land. The surrounding landscape blurs the line between untouched and planned: olives, rosemary and lavender frame the views with accents of colors throughout the verandas. Built into the hillside behind the winery is an 11,000-square-foot cave. Its semicircular construction and soaring 26-foot-high ceilings give the impression that the cave is never- ending. To allow you to fully enjoy this evening, Verve Napa Valley will chauffeur your party to and from the festivities. Upon pick up, T Beller, Verve’s curator in chief, will set the mood for the evening by sabering a bottle of bubbly for guests to enjoy aboard Verve’s super-sleek, custom-made Mercedes Benz luxury coach as they travel to O’Shaughnessy Estate Winery. A four-star evening, from start to finish. NOTE: To be scheduled for a mutually agreeable date. Transportation is based on one pick-up/drop-off location. His ability to work in all the styles of the day—Queen Anne late Victorian, Classic Revival, Craftsman and Prairie Style—made him in high demand in the late 1800s and early 1900s, and the quality of his work means that some of the Napa Valley’s most visually stunning homes and commercial buildings exist to this day. Vintner Lauren Ackerman has offered the winning bidder the very first access to the 1888 Queen Anne home she is restoring to its former glory. She will host four couples for a tour of this Turton home in Old Town Napa, after which the group will enjoy a dinner in the house’s renovated private kitchen, prepared by Victor Scargle, noted chef at the Lucy Restaurant at Bardessono in Yountville, with each course paired with Ackerman Family wines, served by Lauren. There will be several grand openings of this iconic house when it is completed, but you’ll be the first to experience this historic house through this enchanted evening that brings Napa Valley’s past, present and future together into one fabulous night. NOTE: To be scheduled for a mutually agreeable date in September or October 2014.
