The Original Analects: Sayings of Confucius and His Successors. New York: Columbia University Press. (Follows the Brooks’ radical reorganization of the text and includes the Brooks’ own commentary on individual passages. The translation is at times awkward but is perhaps the most precise and scholarly one available in English.
