Survival Island Children will experience working together and putting teamwork into practice in an island escape scenario. Children will experience how to survive on a deserted island by constructing shelters, cooking & eating wilderness food, trying archery and working out how to escape the island! For added excitement, during the summer we also offer an exciting optional overnight Camp-Out every Thursday for an additional cost of £35 per week. Children need to bring a packed lunch and drink bottle each day. For children attending the sleepover on Thursday night, they will be provided with a packed lunch and drink for Friday. Get in touch with us to find out which programmes will be running for which week of Summer 2018. We run Ultimate Survival with English at Chandlings School, Oxford. The school is situated just west of Oxford and offers first-class facilities and extensive grounds. 8 9 ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROGRAMME Each day, the international children split off from the activity programme for 2 hours of English tuition. This will improve children’s abilities even if they have a very basic or no understanding of the English language. Delivered by qualified EFL teachers, these lessons reinforce the practice that the children get from the integration with English children, working on vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and fluency. Children are placed into English classes based on their age and ability. We have a pre-placement test that children are able to complete before attending Varsity, this will ensure they are placed at the correct level. Each class has a maximum of 12 students, and a variety of native languages to ensure the only language spoken is English. 10 11.

Together with the Dragon Pre-Prep, we welcome boys and girls aged 4 to 13 years. The extraordinary education provided here to every individual pupil stays with them for life. The pupils in our care have outstanding opportunities for discovery, adventure and learning. At the Dragon, new talents are uncovered and ambitions nurtured; friendships are forged and challenges embraced. Every pupil is valued and every achievement celebrated. Our beautiful campus and dedicated Pre-Prep, located in the oldest University city in the land, afford an inspirational environment for teaching and learning. Our facilities also ensure that pupils can excel at the performing arts, music and sport. A strong scaffold for academic excellence is provided by our cutting edge curriculum and outstanding teaching, equipping our pupils for smooth transition to their senior schools and beyond. We promote kindness and tolerance, we encourage a sense of responsibility and service to others, and we teach children to respect and nurture their own wellbeing. This prospectus provides only a glimpse of our school but I do hope it will encourage you to explore our school website and to visit us to see what the Dragon can offer your family. I very much look forward to meeting you.
