GTHA Fare and Service Integration Tomorrow • With expanded GO service and new rapid transit lines being completed, connecting local and regional systems becomes even more critical • Transit users often face obstacles when they cross the GTHA’s internal boundaries: additional fares, inconsistent fare policies and disjointed service • Metrolinx is working with GTHA municipal transit agencies on a plan that will propose greater integration to improve the customer experience 8 Smart Commute • Metrolinx’s Smart Commute program works with communities, schools, and workplaces to organize and provide more efficient transportation services such as carpooling, transit, walking or cycling • These Transportation Demand Management measures help reduce congestion and improve quality of life in the region. 22 local employers • Currently there are 13 local Smart Commute offices currently participating in in the GTHA serving 340 employers and 720,000 the program, including: Morguard, Sheridan employees and post secondary school students.
