Wed. June 13 - Bluebird Walk at Cedar Brook Farm - +/- 8 km. Meet for 9:00 am. exit at Cedar Brook Farm in Puslinch. The farm is located at 812 8th Concession Rd West. This is west of Hwy #6, just north of the traffic lights at Carlisle Rd. On 8th Concession go up a steep hill and down to the bottom of the hill. Turn left at 812 at the Cedarbrook sign. Continue down the laneway to the second house. We will do a nature walk around the farm, discussing Bluebirds, Tree Swallows and many other birds. If you want to feed the farm animals bring carrots. Wed. June 6 - Bluebird Hike - 2 hrs. Meet Dan Welsh at, and I quote," take Hwy 6 North from 403 or Hwy 5. Turn left on Concession 8 west. Drive approx 1 km. and look for #812 on the left". Dan has had tremendous succes in re-establishing the Bluebird population in this area, and will inform and entertain us with his expertise. Mod. - 2.

Wed. June 13 - Sanctuary Park - 10 km. Meet Elizabeth Gregory at Sanctuary Park in Dundas. We will complete a loop hike on the Rail Trail and Spring CreekTrail to the and back. Mod. - 4.

Wed. June 20 - Hidden Valley - 3hrs. Meet Emilie Prue , in the Parking Lot at Hidden Valley (Howard Rd,) Aldershot. We will stroll through the valley admiring the many wildflowers and discussing their medicinal properties. Bring your wildflower book. This is a SLOW hike. Mod. - 2.

Wed. June 27 - Globe Park - 10km. Meet John Wolkowski at 10.00 am. at Hutch`s Restaurant on Van Wagners Beach in Hamilton.We will do a loop hike over the new bridge then on through the new wetlands area and then along the Waterfront Trail. Perhaps lunch afterwards. Mod. - 2.

Wed. July 4 - Webster`s Falls - 10 km. Meet Elizabeth Gregory at 10.00 am. at the Optimists Parking Lot on Brock Rd. south of Greensville. We will hike out to the Dundas Peak, passing the spectacular Websters and Tews Falls. Mod. - 4.

Wed. July 11 - Bayfront Trail - 10 km. Meet Kathy at the the Bayfront parking lot on Bay St. in North Hamilton. We will hike to Cootes Paradise, (Princess Point) and back. Wildflowers, wildfowl and maybe wild fish; who could ask for anything more? Mod. - 2.

Wed. July 18 - Crawford Lake - 10 km. Meet Terry Rose at the Sobey`s Parking lot on Brant St., N. of the QEW in Burlington . We will carpool to the Calcium Pits on Twiss Rd, then hike into Crawford Lake along the Bruce Trail and back. Mod. - 4.

Wed. July 25 - Dofasco Trail - 11 km. Meet Gary Wrathall at the Devil’s Punch bowl parking lot, on Ridge Rd. on Stony Creek Mountain ( 1.5k east of Hwy 20). We will carpool to Eighth Rd. East, then hike back through the Vinemount swamp (boardwalk). After the hike, there will be an optional visit to an Alpaca Farm on Eighth and Mud St. Bring lunch, while we tour the farm and Giftshop. Mod. - 2.

Wed. Aug. 1 - Waterfront Trail, Clarkson - 10 km. Meet Valerie Dobson at the GO Station in Clarkson. Take the 9:17 am. from the Appleby Go Station in Burlington. We will hike the waterfront trail to Port Credit, passing through Rattray Marsh and many beautiful parks. Mod. - 2.

Wed. Aug. 8 - Chedoke Falls - 10 km. Meet Kathy at the Parking lot of Chedoke Golf Course in West Hamilton (Aberdeen Ave). We will complete a loop hike of this area following the Bruce Trail, through the Iroquioa C.A. and passing the many beautiful waterfalls along the way. Mod. – 3.

Wed. Aug. 15 - Arboretum/North Shore - 3 hrs. Meet Emilie Prue for a wildflower hike at the Royal Botanical Gardens parking lot on Old York Rd. This will be a SLOW hike, as Emilie discusses the many varieties of flowers. Mod. - 4.

Wed. Aug. 22 - River and Ruin - 10 km. Meet Kathy at the parking lot in Lowville. We will complete a loop hike passing the "Ruin" on the Blue Trail and then back along the River .The Ostrich Ferns in this area are beautiful at this time of year. Mod. - 4.

Wed. Aug. 29 - Toronto Cityscape - 10 km. Meet Norm Young under the clock at Union Station in Toronto at 10:00 am (The 8.50am. from Appleby GO Station).We will examine Art in public places in the Downtown core. Bring or buy lunch. Mod. - 2.

Thurs. June 28 - No. 1 Side Road to Kerncliff Park - 8 - 10 km. Meet for 9:30 am start at Kerncliff Park, Burlington (please note there is no longer access from Highway 5 south along Kerns Road). Thur. July 5th - Oakville Morrison and McCraney Ravines - 10 km. Meet for a 10:00 am. start at Trafalgar Ridge Plaza, 2431 Trafalgar Rd. Look for Home Sense/Winners. Park near the Scotia Bank, facing Trafalgar Rd. There is a Tim’s just across the road if you arrive early. This hike takes in two of Oakville’s finest creek ravines. 7 km of trails, 3 km. of footpaths and 4 ponds. Mostly level, only a couple of short, steep hills. Mod-3. Thurs. July 26 - Red Hill Valley, Hamilton - +/-10 km. Meet for 9:30 a.m. departure in parking lot of “old” Mud Street on Hamilton’s east mountain. On Map 7 of BTGuide, look for `P`parking symbol above Òld Mud Street Access Trail.` Driving directions: From QEW in Stoney Creek, take Red Hill Valley Expressway south to Stone Church Road exit. Then east (right) on Stone Church a short distance, then right on Pritchard Road. Then right on to Mud Street into parking lot. Other route: from QEW in Stoney Creek south on Centennial Parkway, up the Escarpment to Mud Street. Right (east) on Mud Street to Winterbury Drive stoplight. Thurs. Aug. 2 - Christie Lake – Loop Hike and Swim - 8-10 km. Meet 10:00 am. at the car park on Middletown Road (west side, 1 km. south of Highway 5). We will hike counter-clockwise around Christie Lake. At the beach we will swim (optional) and have a picnic lunch. There is a walk-in fee of $4.75 for non-members. Thurs. Aug. 23 Mill Run Trail, Preston In and Out +/- 12 km. Meet for a 9:30 am. start on the east side of the Walmart parking lot in Waterdown on Hwy 5, east of Hwy 6. From here we will carpool to Riverside Park in Preston. For those driving directly, the park is located on Eagle St in Preston. We will do an In and Out hike along the Mill Run Trail beside the picturesque Speed River returning to Preston and finishing with (optional) lunch at the City Café in Preston (Yummy Pizza!) or bring your own lunch. Thurs. Aug. 30 - Hamilton’s Super Bowls - +/- 12 km. Meet for a 9:30 am. start at the Mohawk 4-Ice Arena, located on Mountain Brow, between Limeridge and Mohawk Roads in Hamilton. We will car shuffle to the Devil’s Punchbowl and hike back, approximately 12 kilometers. We will visit four of Hamilton’s bowl waterfalls.
