July 9 - Dundas Valley Trails (Loop) Meet for 09:00am. exit at Dundas Valley Conservation Area parking lot off Governors Rd., Dundas, Second parking lot. Move some cars to Penn Centre, Rear Parking lot, opposite Zellers, St Catherines. Maps 2,3. Hike the Merritt Trail, 12 Mile ST and Bruce Main Trail back to cars. Aug. 20 - Dundas, Rail Trail, Monarch, Main Trail, Spring Creek, (Loop) Meet for 08:45 am. exit at parking lot, Sanctuary park, off Old Ancaster Road, Dundas. Aug. 27 - Toronto, Hilton Falls Trails Loop Meet for 08:45 am. exit at Hilton Falls Conservation Area parking area, Map11. Km. 0.8. Hike Hilton Falls trails and Bruce Trail. HIKERS “R” US WEDNESDAY HIKES Come and join us for some interesting summer hikes along the Bruce Trail as well as other great locations. Good company and lots of laughter. Please be sure and advise the hike leader if you plan to attend. At times it is necessary to make changes to the meeting place or the hike itself due to unforeseen circumstances. We will do a loop hike on the Bruce Trail followed by a creekside walk in the park. Hiking boots. Bring lunch, lots of water, bugspray, sunscreen. Med. - 2. Leader: Agnes Keenan [email protected] Wed. June 13 - Bluebird Walk at Cedar Brook Farm - +/- 8 km. Meet for 9:00 am. exit at Cedar Brook Farm in Puslinch. The farm is located at 812 8th Concession Rd West. This is west of Hwy #6, just north of the traffic lights at Carlisle Rd. On 8th Concession go up a steep hill and down to the bottom of the hill. Turn left at 812 at the Cedarbrook sign. Continue down the laneway to the second house. We will do a nature walk around the farm, discussing Bluebirds, Tree Swallows and many other birds. June 27 - Waterfront Trail/ Oakville - +/- 13 km. Meet for 8: 45am. start in main parking lot of Coronation Park on Lakeshore Rd.W., Oakville. July 4 - Toronto Club End-to-End (#1of 4) - +/- 14.5 km. Meet for 8:45 exit at Kelso C/A parking lot closest to washrooms. We will carpool to parking area on 17th SR just east of Hwy 25 (Map 12, Km. 14.5) and hike the Main trail back to the cars. Hiking boots. Bring lunch, lots of water, bugspray, sunscreen. Meet for 8:45 am. start at the Tim Hortons/Sobey parking lot in Waterdown (Hwy 5 just west of Hamilton Street). Carpool to the beginning of the hike at Guelph Line, south of No.1 Sideroad, (Map 9, 82.1 km). We will hike back to the cars. Some hilly, rocky sections. Hiking boots. July 18 - Oakville Sixteen Mile Creek - +/- 12 Km Meet for 8:45 exit in the parking lot on the southeast corner of Neyagawa Blvd. and River Glen, north of Upper Middle Rd and south of Hwy 5. Hike the trails of Sixteen Mile Creek. Loop hike. Hiking boots. Bring lunch, lots of water, bugspray, sunscreen. Med. – 3. We will examine and learn about the architecture and history of some of the interesting buildings on Yonge and Church Streets. (More details to follow about the GO Train schedules). Meet for a 9:30 am. start in the parking lot of Hilton Falls Conservation Area on No. 5 Sideroad (also Campbellville Rd. and Regional Rd. 9). Map 11. We will explore the trails of the Conservation Area and Halton Agreement Forest. The loop will include the Falls twice and the Five Bridges trail. Mod- 4.
