Transfer to Secondary School – September 2020 Places at all Enfield Secondary schools have been allocated in accordance with the published admissions criteria which can be found in the brochure ‘Your Guide to Secondary Schools in Enfield’. Accepting your offer If you applied online you can accept your place by logging onto your eadmissions account. You need to do this by 16 March 2020. We advise that you accept the place offered even if you wish to pursue higher preference schools, either through the waiting list or through the appeal process. Waiting lists All oversubscribed Enfield schools have waiting lists. With the exception of The Latymer School, your child’s name has automatically been included on the waiting list for any Enfield school/s that were a higher preference than the school you have been offered. If you live in Enfield details of your child’s position on the waiting list for the following schools will be in the letter you receive; Ark John Keats Academy, Aylward Academy, Edmonton County School, Heron Hall Academy, Highlands School, Oasis Academy Hadley, Southgate School and Winchmore School. Enfield County waiting list positions will not be available until 19 March 2020. Applying for additional schools If you now want to apply for a different school or want to apply for a school that was a lower preference than the school you have been offered, you will need to complete an ST2 form. This form must be used to apply for all Enfield schools or any schools outside the Borough. Complete the ST2 form and either scan and email it to [email protected] or post to - Enfield Schools Admission Service, Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, EN1 3XA by 16 March 2020. No places will be offered from the waiting lists until the 19 March 2020 at the earliest. Appeals If it has not been possible to offer your child a place at a school of your preference you have the right to appeal against this decision. Appeals are considered by independent appeal panels. No places are reserved for successful appellants, so appeals that are allowed will increase the number of students above the admission limit. Decisions reached by an independent appeal panel are binding on the relevant admission authority, schools and parents. Appeals for community schools are arranged by the Appeals Service and are usually held at the Civic Centre in Enfield. Academies, voluntary aided, foundation and free schools are responsible for their own appeal procedures. Information about how to make an appeal for each school, the date by when they need to be submitted and planned appeal dates are given on the next page.
