PRAIRIES AND LAKES Isle du Bois Unit RAY ROBERTS LAKE STATE PARK

From birdwatching to riding horses along a scenic trail, Isle du Bois Unit — one of the park units of Ray Roberts Lake State Park Complex in the wooded hills of North Texas — has something for everyone. A 30,000-acre reservoir draws thousands of visitors come to fish, sail, swim or water ski. There are also a large number of campsites, some specifically for equestrian use, and than 20 miles of trails for hiking, bicycling and horseback riding.

Camping: Campsites with water only or water and electricity. Also primitive and equestrian campsites.

Group Facilities: Two group picnic pavilions.

Picnicking: Day-use areas with tables, grills, shade shelters and playgrounds.

Swimming: Swimming beach on lake.

Boating: Boat ramps. Water skiing and sailing.

Fishing: Fish-cleaning station. Fishing pier. Lake offers largemouth bass, white bass, crappie and catfish.

Trails: Over 20 miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails, including a paved scenic trail, and off-road biking (DORBA) trails.
