It begins at an inn on the coast of England July 9-20 and quickly becomes a tale of treachery and mayhem 8:30am-5:30PM featuring a host of legendary swashbucklers, including the dangerous Billy Bones, the sinister Israel Hands, the SHOW DATES: brassy female pirate Anne Bonney, young Jim Hawkins July 21& 22 and perhaps the most famous hero villain of all time, Long John Silver. A delightful blend of the salty and the Ages 6-18 silly, this play will win the heart of every young performer. THE STORY OF THE Join us on this magical adventure as your little PRINCESS AND THE princess and prince explore the life of royalty during PRINCE this fun theatrical week. July 23-27 8:30am-12:30pm Ages 5-9 FUN WITH FAIRYTALES Your little camper will bring their favorite fairytale to life on the stage. He doesn’t keep it for himself, he shares it with all his friend, Dr Livesey. He is sometimes clumsy and reckless by his actions. He is quite naive. Captain Smollett Alexander Smollet is the English captain of the schooner the Espanola in Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel. He is the opposite of Long John Silver, he gave his life to his homeland. He is a right and honest man, and he remains faithful to his values. He has a lot of experience and he is very brave. During the mutiny, he takes the control of the operations and rations his companions to finally lead them to the battle. In the story, Doctor Livesey expresses his admiration to Alexander Smollett. Billy Bones Billy bones is a key character of the story, when he arrives to the inn. He introduces himself as an cruel man. He owns the famous treasure map which belonged to Captain Flint. This is why a lot of buccaneers are looking for him like Long John Silver. Billy is an alcoholic and it makes him aggressive.

The play begins with Jim and Ben simultaneously telling their stories. Although their stories begin ten years apart, they were both deceived as young boys by the same scurvy pirate, Long John Silver. Year: 1871 Ben Gunn needs work after being abandoned by his father. He hears about a potential job working on Captain Flint’s pirate ship. Ben is dismayed when turned down by Flint, but soon meets Long John Silver who brings Ben on board Flint’s boat as the cabin boy. Year: 1881 Jim Hawkins and his friends are playing pirates when they are approached by an actual pirate, Billy Bones! Billy, protecting a chest he’s brought with him, tells the kids about Captain Flint’s lost treasure, the fifteen pirates who died burying it, and the pirate they need to beware of: the man with one-leg. When Jim’s mother approaches them, Billy asks for a room in the Hawkins’ inn. As she prepares his room, Billy warns Jim to look out for the one-legged man. Language AO1 asks you to be able to summarise two texts identifying the similarities and differences. This extract is taken from Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson (1883), Chapter One: The Old Sea-dog at the Admiral Benbow. In this extract, Jim Hawkins re-tells a tale about an old pirate that resided with his family when he was a boy. I remember him as if it were yesterday, as he came plodding to the inn door, his sea-chest following behind him in a hand-barrow--a tall, strong, heavy, nut-brown man, his tarry pigtail falling over the shoulder of his soiled blue coat, his hands ragged and scarred, with black, broken nails, and the sabre cut across one cheek, a dirty, livid white. I remember him looking round the cover and whistling to himself as he did so, and then breaking out in that old sea-song that he sang so often afterwards: "Fifteen men on the dead man's chest-- Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!" in the high, old tottering voice that seemed to have been tuned and broken at the capstan bars. Then he rapped on the door with a bit of stick like a handspike that he carried, and when my father appeared, called roughly for a glass of rum. This, when it was brought to him, he drank slowly, like a connoisseur, lingering on the taste and still looking about him at the cliffs and up at our signboard.
