Frank Maxwell, the incumbent, was elected on a white ballot as no one else was foolish enough to run against him. This is Frank’s first full term as he only had a partial year filling in for Tracy when Tracy was voted in as Treasurer. Give Frank a round of applause. The terms of all officers will expire in December and nominations will be received in October, November and December with elections in December. Be sure to raise your hand when called on to serve. The date for the Texas State Fair is October 15, 2016. Contact Tracy Barenz at [email protected] you plan on being a part of the Mopar display of cars. Remember you and anyone in your car gets in free but there are restrictions regarding attendance. Arrival is NLT 9AM and once inside you cannot leave until after 6PM. If you want to go but don’t have your car ready Bob Ostrowski suggests you park outside the Fair Grounds and hitch a ride in with some in their classic car. While not a DMC sponsored event, I understand some members attended the “We are Mopar” Car Show 20 August at Gas Monkey Live in Dallas. The number of classics in attendance varies by who you ask. The count I heard for classic cars was between 10 and 25 out of over 700 cars that attended. It was a rainy day so that did impact attendance. It was reported by Leroy Daniels that Mopar Magic had 6 cars there and wondered where our club was. Dallas Mopar Club’s 32ndSouthwest Mopar MiniNationals is now just a memory in life’s rear view mirror. The total registration was 135 including judged and non-judged vehicles, swap spaces, and those that registered but were no shows. On line registration was down slightly as was overall registrations from last year’s 164. Sound was very much improved over last year with David Bilderback and Gary Paschall providing the sound system. They placed individual DC operated receiver/speaker units throughout the park broadcasting on 99.3FM so almost the entire park was covered by sound without it being offensive. If I were to try and individually mention all the individuals that made this year’s show a success certainly I might offend someone by leaving them out so instead I say thank you to what I refer to as the “faithful few” for making this year’s 32nd Southwest Mopar MiniNationals such a success. Thank you!!! In the sad news department I am sad to announce that we are losing Tracy and his wife Jodi to a job in Wisconsin. Tracy has been in the Club for 10 years and has faithfully served in some capacity the entire time; President, Director and is now Treasurer and Newsletter editor. Tracy we love you brother and will miss you and Jodi tremendously. See you next year at the DMC Southwest Mopar MiniNationals! See you at the Septemberclub meeting. Bill Membership Thanks to all members who have renewed their membership. Remember the new NAPA Auto Parts Store in Wylie has extended DMC members a discount. Transportation Data Center Data Set Codebook NUMBER 2008-7 MARCH 2008 North Carolina 1997 Re-Release with VIN The University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute THIS PAGE LEFT INTENTIONALLY BLANK North Carolina 1997 Code book Introduction This code book documents data sets describing North Carolina motor vehicle accidents that occurred during calendar year 1997. The data sets were generated by the Transportation Data Center at the University of Michigan's Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) from data provided by the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The cooperation of that agency is gratefully acknowledged. The data set supplied by the North Carolina Department of Transportation contains one record for each crash. This structure has been reformatted into a set of three rectangular files. The characteristics of the three system data sets that have been developed are presented in the table below. Characteristics of the North Carolina Data Sets Data Set Key Freq Variables Accident NC97ACC 231,630 1-50 Vehicle NC97VEH 426,500 1-50,101-190,201-221 Occupant NC97OCC 615,915 1-50,101-190,201-221, 301-307 The code book itself is divided into three sections that document the accident, vehicle & driver, and occupant records, respectively. The univariate frequencies and percentages displayed in each section are taken from the corresponding data set (i.e., vehicle and driver frequencies from NC97VEH, occupant frequencies from NC97OCC, etc.). An index at the end of the code book cross references words used in the code book by variable and code value number. North Carolina 1997 Introduction While every effort has been made to provide accurate, reliable data, inconsistencies may arise from the source data or from the reformatting procedures used.
