You can also rest assured that these reimbursements will not be reduced or affected by any additional outside funding for which you may be eligible. REIMBURSEMENT Q What is the time limit for this reimbursement? A Adaptive equipment must be installed within six months of vehicle purchase or lease. A claim form and all associated paperwork must be submitted to DriveAbility Program Headquarters within 60 days of complete installation of adaptive equipment. Q Can this program be used as a reimbursement and applied to the purchase or lease price of the vehicle? A No. This is a customer reimbursement after the adaptive equipment is installed. Q Can I use this reimbursement in addition to other FCA US LLC incentives? A DriveAbility reimbursements may be used in addition to any other applicable FCA US LLC cash or lease incentive programs in effect at the time you buy or lease your new vehicle. The DriveAbility reimbursement will not be affected by any additional outside funding you may secure to help cover the costs of your vehicle conversion. FINANCING Q Can you help finance the adapted vehicle I purchase / lease? A Our dealers can assist in the finance process for the cost of your new vehicle, as well as for any modifications. Conventional financing is available; see your dealer for details. EQUIPMENT Q Does factory-optional equipment qualify for this program? A No. Factory-optional equipment is not reimbursable under the DriveAbility Program. Q Do I need a prescription or note from my doctor? A For running boards, alerting devices and other similar-type adaptations, you’ll need to provide a prescription or medical documentation on a physician’s letterhead. However, for many adaptations, such as hand controls and wheelchair or scooter hoists, you are not required to provide a medical note or prescription from a doctor. Q Does the equipment have to be installed by a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram or FIAT dealer? A No. The equipment may be installed by any reputable and qualified adaptive equipment dealer selected by the customer. FCA US LLC recommends any major structural modifications be completed by a factory-approved vehicle conversion company that is also a member of the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA). This continued despite the 1998 Chrysler merger with Daimler Benz and constant claims by DaimlerChrysler that this was a significant benefit to consumers. If anything, given the dramatic quality decline, it seems Mercedes Benz may have embraced some of the cost cutting quality standards at Chrysler to increase overall profitability. The problems continue despite stylish new vehicles and claims of new stringent quality standards by Chrysler to regain consumer confidence. Chrysler continues to deceive consumers regarding known potentially life threatening vehicle defects such as unsafe Seatbelts and Steering which continue to put consumer lives at risk every day. Chrysler still refuses to recall several common serious safety defects that cannot be absolved through mergers and buyouts. Chrysler continues to reduce its warranty expense through an aggressive refusal to honor many valid warranty claims while blaming the consumer whenever possible, such as defective engines where on schedule oil changes can be proven. Consumers often attribute this to being a dealer problem while failing to recognize that this is because Chrysler pressures dealers to keep warranty costs to a minimum, even for known problems and defects. Chrysler will do everything it can to avoid covering common problems under warranty whenever possible by blaming consumers or claiming issues cannot be duplicated. We believe Chrysler is the most negligent, deceptive, misleading and arrogant automobile manufacturer that does not deserve your business.
