Marla Schultz is a headlining standup comedian, speaker, actress and media personality. Her most important role to date is being The Slayer of Shame, saving lives one punchline at a time. Crediting her comedy superpowers for the personal successes in her own life trajectory, she fervently communicates that humor heals and creates compassion within ourselves and with others. Marla’s engaging sense of humor in her live performances and social media supports a loyal, global fan base at main stage comedy clubs, theaters and on cruise lines. For two years she toured nationally with fellow comedian Chelsea Handler and has entertained the U.S. Military troops overseas. She has also been featured in the documentaries The Big Talk Over Dinner and the soon-to-be-released You’re Gorgeous, I Love Your Shirt: A Look Inside the Crisis of Bullying and Mental Health. In 2017 Marla won Best Supporting Actress for her work in Idle Worship, which was also awarded Best Cast Comedy. She's co-starred in Indy films Ghost Shrink, Chutzpah, The Schmoole Glick Story, Sink or Swim and What the Feng? A film festival favorite which she co-wrote and co-starred in. In 2013 Marla co-starred Off-Broadway in The New York Fringe Festival's British import Kemble's Riot, which won the prestigious Overall Excellence Award. She also co-starred in the Off-Broadway hit JAPS: The Jewish American Princesses of Comedy. Schultz made her stage debut in the International Fringe Festival’s Time Out and the Los Angeles premiere of Gefilte Fish & Petite Fours, which she co-wrote and co-starred in. In New York City, Marla has been a featured speaker for both the Speaker Salon curated by Tricia Brouk and the inaugural Speakers Who Dare. She is also honored to be a presenter for the National Alliance of Mental Illness ‘NAMI’ In Your Own Voice program sharing her journey to recovery. She also offers customized workshops and presentations, providing keynote speech writing and editing.
