I feel so amazed when I flashback my situation before one and half year ago”, says, Anita Gurung, 31, resident of Lukuna, Muchchok. Mrs. Gurung is a marginalized Janajati woman who was deserted by her husband and, now, is living with her parents playing a role of house head. She had misery even in maintaining a rural family standard from the practices of subsistence agriculture in small land holdings. Though, longing to be an independent and successful woman, she was not able to forward her steps primarily, due to her poor economic status.

Mrs. Gurung, now, is a chairperson, of Laligurans Dhaka Kapada Production Group. She along with other women were provided with 3 months of basic (16 women) and 2 months of advance level (4 women) training. She shares that, now, she has been able to sustain her family with income from Dhaka Production. She adds “Besides my increased income, I feel I am highly empowered in terms of leadership and other interpersonal skill”. At present, she has been providing training to 7 trainees at Bhackeck. Now, she has been a sample of independent women in her community. She have link to different stakeholders, duty bearers, traders, and many more. She shares that community people have changed their perspective towards her.

In future, she is craving to be a successful Dhaka entrepreneur at national level. Furthermore, she is inspiring other women to be involved in Dhaka entrepreneurship and uplift their economic and social status. She is very thankful to MADE Nepal for providing her a platform to make her dream come true
