NOVEMBER 29, 2011 FULL MEETING • The Annual General Meeting of the Governing Body was held. • It was noted with regret that support for the meeting was poor. • The report was discussed. No questions were raised from the floor. INFORMATION FOR PARENTS Arrangements can be made to see and discuss the following documents through contacting the Headteacher a) School Information Handbook b) The School’s Curricular and Management Policy File c) School Development Plan An information handbook for parents and new admissions is published annually. It contains information about the school’s arrangements and rules. STATISTICS FOR SEPTEMBER 2011 Numbers Full Time - 165 Part Time - 19 TOTAL 184 5. ATTENDANCE Percentage attendance for 2011-12 - 95.1% Unauthorised attendance - 4.6% Authorised absence - 0.3% 6. LANGUAGE CATEGORIES a) For whom Welsh is the mother tongue - 81.0% b) Fluent, but Welsh not their mother tongue - 5.4% c) Children who speak Welsh but not fluently - 10.8% d) Children who cannot speak Welsh - 2.8% Welsh is the main language used within this school. The school adheres to Gwynedd’s Language Policy in supplying information bilingually. Welsh is the main language of learning in the Foundation Phase. Units of English work are introduced in Year 2. Welsh is the main teaching language in Key Stage 2. English is introduced as a subject as well as a medium for teaching Foundation subjects. 7.
