O bani, ktorej exis- tenciu dokazuje aj jedna listina z roku 1320, napísaná v latinskom jazyku, rozpráva len nieko ľko starých novín, dobových doku- mentov, zopár úryvkov v knihách a zrúcaniny starých budov za- rastené burinou. Možno v pamäti nieko ľkých starších miestnych obyvate ľov ešte ostalo nie čo o bývalej sláve starej „zlatej bane“. Pre čo spomínajú vždy zlatú ba ňu? Ťažko na to odpovedať. Jedno je isté, že po čas môjho výskumu som zatia ľ žiadny dôkaz o exis- tencii ťažby zlata na tomto ložisku nenašiel. V ardovskej bani sa po čas histórie ťažila olovená a zinková ruda. Túto knihu venujem všetkým, ktorí sa zaujímajú o baníctvo alebo históriu, ale aj tým, ktorí by si chceli rozšíri ť svoje vedo- mosti o gemerskom regióne. Touto cestou by som sa chcel po ďakova ť všetkým, ktorí mi pomáhali pri písaní tejto publikácie.
