INTERNATIONAL LIST OF SELECTED, SUPPLEMENTARY AND AUXILIARY SHIPS (in alphabetical order of countrier) LISTE INTERNATIONALE DE NAVIRES SELECTIONNES, SUPPLEMENTAIRES ET AUXILIAIRES (don8 l'ordre alphab6tique de8 pays) I INTRODUCTION This edition of the "International List of Selected, Supplementary and Auxiliary Ships" contains information, valid on 1 January 1973 supplied by countries listed in the table on page 11, In accordance with Regulations LA.l.Y/7.1.6 and LA.l.lf7.1.7 of the Technical Regulations of the World Meteorological Organization. Full use has been made of electronic data-processing techniques in the preparation of the list. In view of the large number of changes since the 1972 edition, the present edition is a complete replacement. The loose-leaf system has however been maintained and this will facilitate the incorporation of future annual supplements. This edition contains two summary tables showing the participation of various countries in the WMO Voluntary Observing Ship Scheme (table on page 11) and providing some statistical data (table on page 111) on upper-air observation equipment, telecommunica- tion facilities and number or' radio operators on board.
