  • PRESENTATION of the COMMUNIQUÉS of the GENERAL CHAPTER 1. from January
[Translated from Original Spanish] Thy Kingdom Come! PRESENTATION OF THE COMMUNIQUÉS OF THE GENERAL CHAPTER 1. From January 8th through February 25th, 2014, the Extraordinary General Chapter of the Legion of Christ took place in Rome. His Eminence, Cardinal Velasio De Paolis, CS, and his two counselors, Fr. Gianfranco Ghirlanda, SJ, and Fr. Agostino Montan, CSI, presided. Sixty- one chapter fathers participated, 19 ex officio and 42 elected by the nine territories of the congregation and the centers of Rome. 2. This Extraordinary General Chapter marks the end of the journey of in-depth revision that the congregation has travelled since the apostolic visitation, which took place during 2009- 2010, and the naming of a Pontifical Delegate in the summer of 2010. Our principal tasks in the Chapter, as Pope Benedict XVI1 indicated and as Pope Francis confirmed2, were to revise the Constitutions and to elect a new central government for the congregation. 3. In the first days, in light of the reports that the Pontifical Delegate and the pro-General Director submitted, we focused on analyzing the life of the Congregation since the ordinary General Chapter that took place in 2005. One of the outcomes of the intense exchange of ideas that took place in those days was the communiqué that the Chapter approved on January 20th, 2014, about the journey of renewal of the Congregation. This same day, the elections of the new central government took place. Once the election had been confirmed and the Holy See made the two nominations that it had reserved to itself, the elections of Fr.

  • Knights of Columbus' Good Works Assist Parish and Community
September 2012 Knights of Columbus’ good works assist parish and community The local councils of the Knights of Columbus (KofC) remain vigilant in providing assistance to those in need while adhering to their Roman Catholic beliefs that are the driving force behind the organization as it continues to grow. “I always recognized it as a great service group within the church, which ties faith to service and service to faith,” says Jack Schreader, a member since 2005 and Grand Knight of the KofC, Bishop N.Z. Lorrain Council 1531 of Pembroke. “It’s a great group of guys.” On October 2, 1881, Father Michael J. McGivney called together a group of men to a church basement in New Haven, Connecticut. At that gathering, a pledge was made to form a fraternal order based on their devotion to their country, families and faith. A life insurance program was established by the founders to provide for widows and orphans of deceased members, which still exists to this day. Those wishing to join the KofC must be 18 years of age and be practicing Roman Catholics in union with the Holy See. Prospective applicants must accept the teaching authority of the Catholic Church on matters of faith and morals, strive to live in accordance with the Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration on January 26, 2012, featuring the Icon and the Knights of Columbus precepts of the Church, and be in good standing in the newly formed choir. Catholic Church. Not unlike the challenges the diocese currently faces in engaging youth to reconnect with their faith, so, recently, a new gathering of Knights is being established “I have a lot of family roots in that area,” explains too, are the KofC encountering hurdles in recruiting in Douglas via St.

Declining numbers of priests and changing demographics are creating challenges when it comes to providing ordained ministry to all of the 96 parishes across the diocese. Bishop Donald Bolen and diocesan leaders are therefore seeking input through a series of deanery and parish meetings about both the challenges and the blessings being experienced in the diocese, and to ask a number of questions seeking suggestions and feedback to creatively address the reality that fewer priests are available to serve in the diocese. “I would ask the diocese to engage in a creative reflection process, faithful to the Church, in asking where the Spirit might be leading us,” said Bolen, noting the importance of ordained ministry to Catholics as Eucharistic people. “We do a great deal of work in vocations – Priests serving across the diocese of Saskatoon gathered with the bishop at the start of Holy Week April 18 to celebrate the Chrism Mass, along but what more could we do to enhance that with parish representatives who came to collect the sacred oils to be used in sacraments in the year ahead.

After celebrating our 50th Anniversary on December 8th, 2019, we began the new year with our General Assembly held in Rome. 45 delegates from around the world gathered to discern and define the projection of our Society of Apostolic Life for the next 6 years. One of the main areas that we discussed was the mission that God is calling us to as Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi, which we carry out in many different places and many different ways. Our mission as Consecrated Women, like that of all Regnum Christi vocations, is to make present the mystery of Christ, who goes out to meet people in the concrete realities of their lives, reveals to them the love of his heart, gathers them together and forms them as apostles and Christian leaders.
