WEBSITE https://40daysforlife.com/local-campaigns/calgary/
MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the campaign is to bring together the body of Christ in a spirit of unity during a focused 40-day campaign of prayer, fasting, and peaceful activism, with the purpose of repentance, to seek God's favor to turn hearts and minds from a culture of death to a culture of life, thus bringing an end to abortion. 40 Days for Life is a community-based campaign that takes a determined, peaceful approach to showing local communities the consequences of abortion in their own neighborhoods, for their own friends and families. It puts into action a desire to cooperate with God in the carrying out of His plan for the end of abortion. It draws attention to the evil of abortion through the use of a three-point program: Prayer and fasting Constant vigil Community outreach The 40- day campaign tracks Biblical history, where God used 40-day periods to transform individuals, communities ... and the entire world. From Noah in the flood to Moses on the mountain to the disciples after Christ's resurrection, it is clear that God sees the transformative value of His people accepting and meeting a 40-day challenge.

MISSION STATEMENT Be the rock of your domestic church! God Squad challenges men to show the same servant leadership to their families that Christ has for His bride, the Church. God Squad Canada was formed by four Calgary police officers who witnessed first hand the breakdown of families, and saw that this was largely due to an abdication of true fatherhood. With a desire to counter the fatherless culture, the first catholic men's conference was held in 1998. The God Squad, in recent years, has been focusing more on attracting younger men to give them the tools to succeed as husbands and fathers.

WEBSITE www.kofc.org
KNOWN AS
MISSION STATEMENT All the good works we do are informed by our four core principles:
Charity: Our Catholic faith teaches us to "Love thy neighbor as thyself." Members of the Knights of Columbus show love for their neighbors by conducting food drives and donating the food to local soup kitchens and food pantries, by volunteering at Special Olympics, and by supporting, both spiritually and materially, mothers who choose life for their babies. Knights recognize that our mission, and our faith in God, compels us to action. There is no better way to experience love and compassion than by helping those in need, a call we answer every day.
Unity: None of us is as good as all of us. Members of the Knights of Columbus all know that together we can accomplish far more than any of us could individually. So we stick together...we support one another. That doesn't mean that we always agree or that there is never a difference of opinion. It does mean that as a Knight of Columbus you can count on the support and encouragement of your brother Knights as you work to make life better in your parish and community.
Fraternity: Venerable Michael J. McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus, in large part, to provide assistance to the widows and children left behind when the family breadwinner died often prematurely. The Order's top-rated insurance program continues to do this today, as do the good works of individual Knights, who gave more than 75.6 million service hours in 2017, illustrating how Catholics serve each other in fraternity and mercy.
Patriotism: Members of the Knights of Columbus, be they Americans, Canadians, Mexicans, Cubans, Filipinos, Poles, or Dominicans, are patriotic citizens. We are proud of our devotion to God and country, and believe in standing up for both. Whether it's in public or private, the Knights remind the world that Catholics support their nations and are amongst the greatest citizens.

MISSION STATEMENT In response to Pope Benedict XVI's call to be "custodians of beauty," the Sacred Arts Guild of Alberta (SAGA) is a community of artists and associates who are interested in the study, preservation, and renewal of traditional methods for creating liturgical and sacred art in the Christian tradition. Our purpose is: To promote increased awareness and appreciation of ways that the beauty of liturgical and sacred art can enhance the meaning and understanding of faith within homes and parish communities. To encourage dialogue and learning between the Catholic artistic tradition and other Christian expressions of sacred art, particularly the Eastern iconographic tradition; To bring together those who wish to deepen their understanding of the traditions and various forms that Christian art has taken over the centuries; To foster the recovery of ancient and traditional methods of art and craft making that can be used to create new, contemporary expressions of the faith. To inspire collaboration between artists and artisans in the creation of new works; To deepen the understanding of the historical and theological foundations of liturgical and sacred art as a living tradition; To encourage the use of original works of liturgical art in homes, parishes, schools, and other public spaces. To encourage the professional development of artists, at all levels from beginners to professionals, in improving their skills and knowledge of sacred art. To provide resources for parishes and schools regarding the role of sacred art in community life In order to achieve these goals, the Sacred Arts Guild of Alberta will seek: To sponsor activities which promote the professional and personal development of the members of the society; To organize occasional workshops and talks for its members and the broader community; To hold regular open studios times and seek to establish a shared studio space for its members. To sponsor occasional exhibitions of the work of the guild's members in order to make their work better known within the community; To sponsor an annual guild Mass for artists, patrons, and friends of the arts; To establish a directory of artists and artisans who are involved in the liturgical and sacred arts in Alberta; To collaborate with other organizations that promote sacred art nationally and internationally To provide referrals and information resources among members.

MISSION STATEMENT Secular Franciscans are Catholic men and women who seek to deepen their faith and pattern their lives on Jesus Christ, in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi. We live and work in society. We are married, single, old, young, and from all walks of life. We seek to proclaim, by our example, the love, joy and mercy of Christ to the world. We are an order within the Catholic church, and are members of local Fraternities. Led by the Holy Spirit, we strive for perfect charity in our secular state. By our profession, we pledge to live the gospel in the manner of St. Francis in accordance with the rules approved by the Church. To follow the gospel of Christ in the footsteps of St. Francis, who made Christ the inspiration and centre of his life with God and with people, going from gospel to life and life to the gospel. (That is close to Article 4 of the OFS Rule approved by Paul VI in 1978, which is what I meant to write.)

KNOWN AS Focolare (Hearth or Family Fireside)
MISSION STATEMENT The Focolare's spirituality is unity and its aim is to help fulfill Jesus' Prayer "That they may all be one" (Jn 17:21). People of all ages and backgrounds strive to achieve this by living with the presence of Jesus among them (Jesus in the midst) and by embracing Jesus Forsaken in every suffering. Jesus in the midst refers to the Gospel sentence in which Jesus states that where two or more people are united in His name, which means in His love, He is present there (see Mt. 18:20). So it's something immense: the possibility of Christ's presence among us in our family, at work, school, our community, and allowing Him to guide and enlighten us. Jesus forsaken is the expression of the pain that Jesus suffered on earth, when at the climax of his suffering on the cross he cried out: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” {Mk. 15:34) By welcoming Jesus' countenance in our personal suffering or in the suffering of other human beings, we can possess the key to unlock unity
