Iʼve never met a store party I didnʼt like. The combination of a store party paired with a charity is even better. A couple of weeks ago three stores hosted cocktail events with the opportunity to shop for three important causes and brought out fashion conscious and charity- minded attendees.

On Thursday, April 9th the Playground Partners of Central Park Conservancy hosted a shopping night at Brooks Brothers and New York Cityʼs stylinʼ moms and their friends got together to support the cause and shop for their tots.

Two moms, Mary Beth Adelson and Hana Bitton, were actually just returning the favor. Both of their sons had recently bought them (with their dad's help) very nice jewelry. Mary Bethʼs son, Henry, bought her Marie Castronovo got this malachite & quartz beaded a Lucite link necklace while on necklace in Italy. spring break with the family, and Hanaʼs son Joshua, picked out Van Cleef earrings while at Harrodʼs in London with his dad. (I need to adopt these kids!)

Also adding some color to the party were Marie Castronovo, whose spring green stone and chain link necklace was from Italy, and Antoinette Colaizzi

whose burgundy booties sported a chic shape, higher in the back.

Mary Beth Pitta Adelson's Sara Campbell pink lucite necklace was a gift from her son.

Hana Bitton's son chose these Van Cleef & Arpels carnelian heart earrings for her.

Antoinette Colaizzi's burgundy suede Vince Camuto booties cut a stylish silhouette. Also on Thursday, April 9th, the JoyJ Initiative hosted cocktails at SAKS Fifth Avenue with a view of the RAOUL Spring 2015 collection. JoyJ provides support to local homeless populations through direct outreach programs. Attendees ogled the collection, including the glittery and metallic shoes, worn by RAOULʼs Faith Friedfeld and the models who walked the cocktail party. Walking the plank, or at least giving a playful nod to those who have, was Rosanne Lind whose pirate belt buckle from London made a splash.

Dawne Marie Grannum carried a butterscotch colored Chanel mini bag. On Monday, April 13th Pomellato opened their store for a cocktail event to support the American Cancer Societyʼs 2015 Spring tribute to Marvin Hamlisch. Terre Blair Hamlisch, honorary chair of ACSʼs upcoming May 4th gala, was the leading lady of the evening, dazzling in Pomellato jewelry.

Terre Blair Hamlisch sparkled in Pomellato jewelry. Many of us, including Bettina Paus, MaryLu, Annie Watt, and I got in on the act and tried on the beautiful baubles. It was hard to tear myself away from the giant cocktail rings, and even harder to have to take them off and give them back, but I managed to take note of some other sparklers in the room, including Tracy Nixonʼs bag and Gail Karrʼs earrings. I also took note of two cute novelty bags carried by Marcy MacDonald and Rosemary Ponzo.

Marcy MacDonald designed her purple pooch bag in Florence, Italy.

Rosemary Ponzo's Moschino novelty bag was a leather jacket. Not exactly a store, but certainly a well known retail establishment, Madame Paulette was the site of a collection reception for Victor de Souzaʼs Fall 2015 designs on Wednesday, April 8th. Iʼve admired Victorʼs beautiful gowns for some time, and it was nice to ﬁnally see some of his accessories up close, like the headpieces he designs in collaboration with Dustin Lujan.

Roy Kean's Italian silk paisley pocket square provided a dash of panache.

Justin Wootton bought his Commes des Garcons black & white ankle boots in Berlin, Germany. But the ladies really rocked the scene with some fabulous bags. Jean Shaﬁroff, Joy Marks, Linette Semino and Amanda Wang carried classics like Leiber, Chanel and Bottega Veneta, while Natasha Sparkles and Alyson Caﬁero charmed me with their novelty bags.

Natashaʼs was a metal barrel bag that was decorated all around with a cocktail theme and Alysonʼs scored a royal ﬂush, decorated front and back with a playing card theme and her initials in the corners. Her Queen of Spades bag was the queen of my heart!

Alyson Caﬁero's Urania Gazelli Queen of Spades clutch bag was customized with her initials.

The back of Alyson's bag. Finally, one guest who caught my eye was Dorinda Medley. I recognized her because she had made her debut on The Real Housewives of New York City the night before. She was lovely and told those of us who admired her vintage necklace that she bought it very inexpensively at a small shop out of town. Who doesnʼt love a Housewife who can spot a bargain and is honest about it?
