Coordinator’s Report on the Corridor The new railway line between Montpellier and Perpignan will be instrumental http://ec.europa.eu/transport/themes/i in ensuring continuity of rail services between France and Spain for both nfrastructure/ten-t-guidelines/corridors passenger and freight traffic. The Action concerns preparatory studies for the construction of this new railway line. It relates to the Mediterranean European Commission Corridor. The Action is part of a Global Project that aims at the completion http://ec.europa.eu/transport of the new Montpellier-Perpignan railway line.

Innovation and Networks Executive The Action consists of a set of studies, including route alignment definition, Agency (INEA) socio-economic and financial studies, environmental assessment and http://ec.europa.eu/inea preparation of the public enquiry procedure.

In the long run, the Action will improve the connection between North-West Europe and the Iberian Peninsula, providing a direct link between major cities such as Barcelona, Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier and Toulouse.
