Now online www.tv..it, the new section of Mediaset.it wholly dedicated to the world of TV and all the entertainment programmes on the Mediaset channels.

The announcement was made by Yves Confalonieri, the director of R.T.I. Interactive Media (the division that has developed the project and manages the Mediaset Group's multimedia activities: web, online information and news, communities, analogue and digital Mediavideo teletext, mobile content and services), who described the characteristics of the the www.tv.mediaset.it site as follows.

"TV Mediaset is a new element that is being added, after www.sportmediaset.it and www.video.mediaset.it to the bigger picture that is the new Mediaset web portal. All of the sections share the same look and have an identical and intuitive navigational structure. In particular, the navigation and access to video material has become much easier and the home page of TV Mediaset has an important space that is continuously updated. The film clips are a central element in Mediaset's online offer".

Marking the launch of TV Mediaset, Luigi Midolo, the deputy directo of R.T.I. Interactive Media, added:

"TV Mediaset is the area dedicated to the group's offer. Beyond the channels' official schedules and news coverage, extensive space is given to video clips and exclusive content. Not only the best and un- missable scenes that have been broadcast, but also "outtakes" from successful programmes, with interviews and other curiosities about the protagonists".

The new home page highlights the prime time offerings of the Mediaset channels and Premium, anticipating the schedules. In "TV news" the site provides the latest coverage from , and . The central section "primo piano" highlights the main news story and, on the right-hand column, offers access to the programmes, weather and horoscope, as well as to "saiXché" (the day's curious fact), current surveys and Canale 5, Italia1 and Retequattro postbags. A link on the Casting Mediaset area allows users to access the selection, screen tests and search for new talent. There is even a rich segment dedicated to gossip, with news, photos and video.

The main menu of www.tv.mediaset.it provides access to the pages of Mediaset's channels, under the umbrella of the Mediaset.it brand, each of which presents its prime time and late night schedules, what's new, programme profiles and coming soon features. Further down the menu users can access the Premium site and, subsequently, a completely refurbished EPG TV guide, which provides detailed information about the Canale 5, Italia1 and Retequattro schedules. Users can also access daily Auditel ratings information with the relative press releases commenting on the results of the three channels and Boing. Finally, for interactivity enthusiasts, a special area indicates SMS services and competitions linked to Mediaset TV programmes. The menu ends with an area on digital terrestrial, illustrating the technology and offering information about the Boing, and Iris channels.
