To what promises to be a trip giving you unique insight into Norwegian contemporary architecture. You will explore cutting edge projects and enjoy the architects telling you their stories. Through a collaboration between the AIA and the National Association of Norwegian Architects we have been able to plan a trip to Oslo, Bergen and Stavanger. These three cities, including the travel between them will show you the essence of today’s architecture in Norway. Why this region is looked upon as one of the spearheads of architecture in the world today. How nature culture, history and nature is interwoven and expressed in architecture. And last but not least, maybe get a deeper understanding of the Norwegian heritage. We are ready for 10 days packed with inspiration. Are you? See you the 21st of June in Oslo. ONSAGER THE LEMONWEIR VALLEY PRESS Berrien Springs, Michigan and Mauston, Wisconsin 2013 ANASON FAMILY INTRODUCTION The Anason family has its roots in Rogaland County, in western Norway. Western Norway is the area which had the greatest emigration to the United States. The County of Rogaland, formerly named Stavanger, lies at Norway’s southwestern tip, with the North Sea washing its fjords, beaches and islands. The name Rogaland means “the land of the Ryger,” an old Germanic tribe. The Ryger tribe is believed to have settled there 2,000 years ago. The meaning of the tribal name is uncertain. Rogaland was called Rygiafylke in the Viking age. The earliest known members of the Anason family came from a region of Rogaland that has since become part of Vest-Agder County.

Email g [email protected] Abstract In recent times, there has been a growing trend by airports and airlines to use aviation biofuel as an environment sustainability measure. Using an instrumental qualitative case study research design, this paper examines the evolution of sustainable aviation fuels at Oslo Airport Gardermoen. Oslo Airport Gardermoen was the first airport in the world to offer the first airport in the world to offer aviation biofuels to all airlines in 2016. The qualitative data were examined by document analysis. The study found that the use of sustainable aviation biofuels has delivered tangible environmental benefits to Oslo Gardermoen Airport. The usage of aviation biofuels has enabled the airport, and the airlines using sustainable aviation biofuels, to reduce their greenhouse gases by 10-15%. Also, as part of Norway’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the Norwegian Government have mandated that the aviation fuel industry must mix 0.5% advanced biofuel into jet fuel from 2020 onwards.

  • Ruter and the Municipality of Bærum Sign Micromobility Contract with TIER
    PRESS RELEASE 23 APRIL 2020 Ruter and the Municipality of Bærum sign micromobility contract with TIER TIER has been confirmed as the new supplier of micromobility solutions for the Municipality of Bærum. The municipality’s bike hire scheme will now be expanding to include electric scooters and electric bicycles. Ruter, the Public Transport Authority of Oslo and the former Akershus region, has entered into a public-public collaboration with the Municipality of Bærum. The purpose of the collaboration is to establish a wide range of mobility services for Bærum. The procurement process has now been concluded, with TIER GmbH being selected as the municipality’s supplier of micromobility solutions. – This will be the first time Ruter integrates micromobility solutions into our existing public transport system. Our collaboration with the municipality is working very well, and we believe this is going to be an important step towards the future of mobility services," says Endre Angelvik, director of mobility services at Ruter. The partnership’s plan is to integrate shared e-bikes and e-scooters into the existing public transport system – first in Lysaker, Sandvika and Fornebu in 2020, then in other parts of the municipality during springtime next year. Ruter and the municipality of Bærum intend for the new micromobility scheme to become a valuable and safe addition to the environments where they are introduced. To this end, the partnership will aim to keep in close touch with the municipality’s general population, for purposes of receiving feedback and making adjustments. Formally, the purpose of the contract is to develop a scheme that • complements existing public transport services by allowing travellers seamless movement from transport hubs all the way to their final destination • provides the aforementioned scheme to the city's inhabitants, visitors, businesses and municipal employees – Bærum is on the way towards becoming a climate-smart municipality.
