Box 460 Iqaluit, Nunavut X0A 0H0 Public Service Announcement City Events for National Indigenous Peoples Day June 17, 2021 – Iqaluit, Nunavut Free Skate Turf and Swim Come out and enjoy any of our free events on June 21st 2021: Free Public Skate from 6pm – 7pm. Limited to the first 25 people. Free Turf from 7pm – 8pm. Limited to the first 25 people. Free Swim from 7pm – 8pm and 8pm - 9pm. Limited to Lane Swim. For all events, participants must wear a mask, with the exception of the pool deck and follow all current Public Health Orders. Beading Contest For this contest you can make either earrings, bracelets, or necklaces. Let your creativity be your guide. Your artwork will be evaluated based on creativity & overall presentation. To enter, send us your photos by commenting below, sending us a private message, or e-mail to [email protected] by 10pm June 21st 2021. Winners will be announced, June 23rd, 2021. Baking Contest Theme will be: Hunting Your Cookie/Cake will be evaluated based on theme incorporation, creativity, and overall presentation. City of Iqaluit 1085 Mivvik Street P.O. Recreation staff will be giving out individual bags of country food and juice boxes. Limited supplies per pop up stations. If you are in the right place at the right time, you could get lucky! You can also follow us on Facebook live as we disclose our locations! Masks are mandatory for all picking up country food. We ask that the community observe 2:15 of silence at 2:15 pm honouring the experiences of residential school survivors and in memorial of those who did not return home. Write down the Inuktitut name for 'Tarr Inlet' 4. Take a picture with local art/carvings 5. Take a picture of a feather 6. Take a picture of the season’s first flower 7. Catch a mosquito and show the proof 8. Create a "Life Imitates Art" with Indigenous Art 9. Take a picture of you creating a snowball 10. Take a picture of yourself near Iqaluit kuunga 11. Take a picture of you in/on a qamutiik 12. List 5 musical artists and/or bands from Nunavut 13. Show off your traditional Inuit-made clothing/accessories or tattoos 14. Take a #sealfie 15.
