VICTORIA IS SOMETHING MORE

The Victoria School experience changes a person. Victorians emerge with an excitement for life, a passion for learning and an indomitable spirit. Always spirited, the young men carry with them that ‘something more’ out into the world, to confidently conquer the paths they choose and leave their distinctive mark, making the world a more lively and dynamic place. They have a gift for living life to the fullest.

Being in Victoria School allows our students the freedom to be who they are, and the encouragement to carve out a niche for themselves and to succeed in their endeavours. The dynamism, vibrancy and sports-oriented school environment chimes with the spirit of any Victorian. They learn to value engagement and to express themselves without inhibition or self-consciousness, but with respect and consideration for others.

COMMUNITY & CITIZENSHIP

SOCIAL INNOVATION

Victoria School has adopted Design Thinking as the methodology for Social Innovation Projects. Design Thinking, which uses the 5 stages of Empathise, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test, draws upon logic, imagination, intuition, and systematic reasoning to explore possibilities of what could be, and to create desired outcomes that benefit the end user.

All Victorians take part in projects which involve both analysis and imagination. Actively contributing to and participating in these projects will not only help them make a difference to the community, it will also make a difference to their personal growth and development.

We are delighted to be one of the schools partnering South East Community Development Council in the Community Laboratory programme, where students are immersed in real “community” NURTURING LEADERS experiments. Student Leadership Education is instituted as part of Character and Leadership Education in Victoria School, in the quest of grooming upright and balanced individuals with leadership qualities. Student Leadership Education aims to instill in Victorians a spirit of achievement, to nurture them into becoming innovative and respected leaders.

Our Student Leadership Programmes enable the boys to be directly involved in planning, teamwork and effective execution of various tasks. With diligence, determination and discipline, all Victorians should excel at the end of Secondary 4 as a Leader in the mould of a Gentleman, Professional, and Sportsman.

Students experience the various opportunities available to them, develop their potential in their interest areas, grow and deepen core knowledge and skills, and eventually excel with confidence and conviction.Throughout their years in Victoria School, every student will be given opportunities to take on leadership roles in the classroom, school or Co- Curricular Activity (CCA).

Leadership opportunities abound in the following boards:

• Senior Leaders & Junior Leaders • Prefectorial Board • Monitors’ Council • Peer Support Board • CCA Leaders’ Council • CCA Executive Committees • House Captains & Committees • Class Committees
