Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Who can participate in this competition?

Students ages 15-35 years old (before 31 December 2021) and currently enrolled at any Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) and relevant art schools in . Refer to table in question 2.

2. Can my team have members from other Institutions of Higher learning (IHLs) and/or relevant art schools?

Participants can be from different institutions provided they are from the institutions listed below:

3. Can my team include additional unregistered crew team members or do I have to strictly stick with the registered 2-5 members?

Yes, you may have as many members as you require (i.e. actors, actresses, production team). However, be mindful that the division of the cash prize will not be of SCWO’s discretion. Only the registered members will be recognised as the official members and therefore, invited for our main event should you qualify.

4. Can unregistered team members be from institutions not listed above in question 2?

Yes, your unregistered team members may be from other institutions not listed as long as the main registered team members are students from the institutions listed in question 2.

5. Does my team have to pay a fee in order to participate?

There are no entry fees required to participate in the competition.

6. For the registration form, which institution name should we indicate if our team consists of members from different tertiary institutions?

Please list all the institutions that your team members are representing.

7. Can my team change our team members after registering our details?

Yes, you may. Please email us your new team members details via email ([email protected] and [email protected])

8. How many entries can my team submit?

There is no limit in the number of entries that an eligible team can submit. However, only one of the submissions will be eligible to be shortlisted as a finalist.

9. What are the types of works that are qualified for submission?

Live Action, Animation, Documentary films are accepted for submission.

Updated on 19 July 2021 10. Can my team submit works that we created or produced for a client?

No, films made with the intent of sales and promotion of a product, service, or brand will not be accepted.

11. Will works that are outsourced to a company or individual for completion be qualified for entry?

The component/s that were outsourced to a company or professional individual(s) for completion or enhancement will not qualify for the winning prizes.

The team will be required to disclose in the submission form should the submission be outsourced to a company or professional individual(s) for completion or enhancement.

12. Who can submit the entry?

A submission may be done by a student representative (on behalf of team members).

13. Can my team’s video be different from the proposal submitted?

Yes, your video submission does not have to be exactly the same as your proposal. We will accept submissions as long as they focus on one or more of the 3 main topics:

○ Bullying and/or Cyberbullying; ○ Any forms of Harassment (verbal, physical, emotional and/or voyeurism); and/or ○ Violence in Relationships (Domestic, Family, Dating etc).

14. Can my team enter a short film that is not in English Language?

You may enter a short film that is not in English Language. All non-English submissions must have English subtitles.

15. Can my team enter a short film that is not completed?

Work in Progress will not be eligible for the competition.

16. How can my team proceed to submit an entry?

All submissions are required to be uploaded onto the platforms as listed in the online submission form. Both the URL and password (if any) must be provided.

● Film Duration: 1 to 4 minutes including opening title and closing credits ● Short Film format: .MOV or .MP4 ○ The short film should be produced in high-definition quality and suitable for uploading onto various Social Media platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok,etc). ○ Need to provide a downloadable link.

Updated on 19 July 2021 ○ If the short film is shortlisted as a finalist entry, they are required to send in (1) an editable and (2) a high-resolution digital file of the short film via online (Google Drive, WeTransfer or DropBox).

17. Can my team submit a film that has been submitted to other film competition(s)?

Yes, you can, In Her Stride is a non-exclusive competition. Films that were submitted for other film competitions (within or outside Singapore) are still eligible for submission.
