Each week, this page will appear in the bulletin to thank all those who have given to this year’s Catholic Ministries Ap- peal. Names will be added to the page as we receive pledges at the parish office or as we receive notice from the diocese that pledges have been received there. This Roster of Appreciation will continue to list all donors throughout the campaign with each week’s new pledges being appended to them in bold print. Names will appear alphabetically (note: if you wish not to be listed, please indicate so on your card and we will include your gift under “Anonymous”). No individual pledge amounts will be shown, just the average gift given thus far in the campaign. If after a few weeks following the making of your pledge you still do not see your name, please let us know so that we can verify with the CMA Office at the Diocese that your pledge was credited to Peace of Christ Parish. Every now and then a pledge is miscoded and gets applied to some other parish’s goal until we discover the error—another reason for this list. The campaign ends in May, but we’re hoping to reach our goal in pledges well before Thanksgiving in keeping with the original name of this annual campaign: the annual Thanks Giving Appeal. The diocese gives us almost three times our goal in subsidies and scholarships each year for our school. So, please, pledge by early November, and then pay as you can (by 5/31/21). Just drop your complet- ed pledge card (as received in the mail or obtained in the church vestibule) into the Sunday collection or into the mail. Suggestion: when you receive your CMA information and pledge card in the mail during the week of October 5th, try not to keep that card on your desk more than 2 days. Otherwise it may still be there 2 weeks or 2 months from now. Act on it right now so we can put the appeal behind us and move on to all our various spiritual needs that should be most regularly before our attention. Thanks so very much! Early gifts which have helped us so greatly and been received thus far include the following:

Anonymous, Barbara Abel, Lizabeth Barrett, Raymond Battaglia, Mary Ann & Peter Borrelli, Ms. Judith Boyd, M/M Richard Buck, Carol Carrigan, Mary & Chet Cavagnero, Richard & Katherine Chapman, Bob Crego, Anne DeMare, Andrew Dick, Dilal, Annette Dooher, Edward Doty, Mary Ann Brophy & Rick Eisenman, Lisa Fahy, John & Elaine Fitzgerald, Ethel Flannery, Karen Francati, M/M Robert & Janet Genthner, Bob & Joanne Insull, Douglas & Onolee Johnson, James & Gloria Lash, M/M James Leone, Joseph Lobozzo, M/M Frank Loiacano, Mrs. Helen Johnson, Jane Koch, Catharine Kurz, Louis Litzenberger, Chung Ma, Thomas & Judith Mahoney, Eric & Sue Maltzan, Jane McGrath-Briggs, John & Kathleen McQueen, Susan Morrison, Anthony & Stella Nozzi, Janice Palmeri, Peter & Doreen Pellittieri, Mrs. Catherine Reagan, Margaret Richter, Lawrence & Marion Ritz, Ritz, Goldie Rogers, Sacco, Barbara Scherer, John & Nancy Schmidt, Rev. Robert Schrader, Lori Sparacino, Mary Ellen Steele, Michael & Mary Stoll, Christine Vandervoort, Ms. JoAnn Wawrzaszek, Paul & Jane Way, William Wetmore, Nancy Whiting and Theresa Young.

The average gift thus far is $612.32 and the above represent 3.84% of our parishioners. We have reached 32.17% of our $110,395 goal. “Christ, Our Light” is this year’s theme. Last year we oriented everyone to the Child Victims Act (CVA) and how no CMA funds are used in this regard. On September 14th, Bishop Matano sent an update to the parish in a 6-page letter, and due to its size it is posted on our web site for all: see https://www.peaceofchristparish.org/sites/default/ files/documents/BishopMatanoLetterSept14_2020.pdf. Our Bishop’s leadership in tending both to the CVA claims deemed legitimate by the court and to the pastoral and spiritual needs of the diocese by way of the Catholic Ministries Appeal de- serves our support, and I know of some who already increased their CMA gift so that the programs which serve so many in our parishes, schools and charitable institutions can continue for the good of all. So, thank you for being so timely in send- ing in your support for this year’s Appeal, and may our reaching our goal in pledges by Thanksgiving enable the Church’s many services to continue to be present for us all! —Father Schrader
