Actuo en comedias, dramas y peliculas cinematograticas. Pronto pudo dirigir algunos filmes para la compania P.A.G.U., como »Blinde Kuh«, »Der schwartz Moritz« y »Der Blusekonig«. La compania estatal U.F.A. sobre la cual se basaba la P.A.G.U. Ie encomendo la direccion de la comedia dramatica »Die Augen der Mumie Ma«. Alii actuo por primera vez bajo las ordenes de Lubitsch Pola Negri, celebre actriz polaca que poco despues seria un pa radigma de la vampiresa cinematogratica. Matej Santi, Elias Berner (eds.) Music – Media – History Music and Sound Culture | Volume 44 Matej Santi studied violin and musicology. He obtained his PhD at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, focusing on central European history and cultural studies. Since 2017, he has been part of the “Telling Sounds Project” as a postdoctoral researcher, investigating the use of music and discourses about music in the media. Elias Berner studied musicology at the University of Vienna and has been resear- cher (pre-doc) for the “Telling Sounds Project” since 2017. August 11, 1915; d. July 2, 2006) was born in Rochester, NY. He graduated from the University of Rochester in 1937 with distinction with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics; he was also elected to the academic honors society Phi Beta Kappa. In 1941, he moved to Washington, DC, to work in the Army Ordnance Division of the War Department as a research analyst. He left that position in 1954 to restore a house he purchased in Georgetown. Subsequently, in 1956, he joined the National Automobile Dealers Association as a research analyst and worked there until his retirement in 1972. He was an avid musician and concert-goer: he was a talented pianist, and he composed music throughout his life.
