MESSAGE FROM THE SCHOOL

The Aldgate School (formerly Sir John Cass's Foundation Primary School) is a Church of England primary school located in the City of , England. It is the only state- funded school in the .

I am starting this campaign because as a parent I want to help the school to be prepared for whatever the future may bring and to ensure that every child is able to connect online and to help them access school work from home, catch up on lost learning during school holidays and continue with their education if schools are closed due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The school currently has 30 working Chromebooks. If they were to have to close fully the school due to lockdown again they can loan the Chromebooks out (as they did in the last lockdown), however if the school has bubbles closed onsite it is harder as the children in school still need to be using them.

From Year 1 to 6 the school has 210 children.

In the event of compulsory online learning in a future school closure, the school would not have enough devices to support all children.

Target - Initial target 10 Chromebook laptops £275 each (excluding VAT) At present the school has only 30 Chromebooks for a total of 210 children. Many more are needed but to plug the immediate gap once school resumes after Christmas we want to have at least 10 extra Chromebooks in January. In the future we will also need a mobile charging tower enabling the Chromebooks can be shared from classroom to classroom. We will acknowledge all contributions. We are hoping that by the end of 2021 we will have 60 Chromebooks for the school. Total to be raised £3000 to help children as soon as they come back from Christmas break hence the urgent deadline.
