His PhD Thesis is related to CO2/formation water interactions in changing wellbore dynamics. He also published around 30 conference papers related to oil and gas índustry within this period of time. SCHLUMBERGER, IRAQ Reservoir Engineer (2011-2017) In Schlumberger, the candidate involved many reservoir-related projects for several oil companies such as; BP, Exxonmobil, Chevron, ENI, Genel Energy for five years. During this time period, he technically directed 8 different Vx units and 40 field engineers for different Multiphase Flow Metering projects (ENI (Multiphase Flow Metering), Exxonmobil (MPFM and Well Testing) Chevron (MPFM and Well Testing), BP(MPFM)). It paved the way of being a key player of the testing sales team by giving the technical support and enable a startup of value selling for PTA, Perforation, Multiphase Metering and PVT interpretation in Iraq Geomarket. Also, as being the technical side of the sales team, he involved in preparation of both technical and commercial parts of tenders and contracts. It helped to capitalize the client needs to deliver maximum value and generating revenue in whole Geomarket. Additionally, he was responsible for the interpretation and reporting PVT and SCAL data to clients. THE PETROLEUM INSTITUTE, UAE Visiting Researcher (2008-2011) 1 The candidate involved to the installation of the SCAL Analysis Laboratory. He also performed SCAL Tests on preserved reservoir rock samples (In-Situ taken) of Abu Dhabi Reservoirs. He performed various wettability characterization tests on Reservoir Rocks. Assigned in two ADMA-OPCO projects related to Effects of Different Brine Compositions, Shape Factor & IFT behavior on Rock Wettability. He developed a reservoir wettability characterization method (US Patent No. US 8768628 B2) which is currently used in the laboratories of some oil companies. ISTANBUL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY, TR Research/Teaching Assistant (2005-2008) The candidate worked as research/teaching assistant. He was teaching Petroleum and Fluid Laboratory courses. Also, he involved in several projects related to EOR Processes, Oil Composition Impact on Water Injection for Rock/Oil/Brine systems, Derivation of Capillary Pressure Curves from Imbibition Data, Physical and mechanical analysis of Fluid/Rock samples, Contact Angle Calculation and Wettability Characterization. SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE Celal Hakan Canbaz is a Senior Reservoir Engineer with Industrial and Institutional Research experience. Previously, he worked as Reservoir Domain Champion of Schlumberger Testing Services in Erbil and Basra locations of Iraq and as researcher in ADNOC, Abu Dhabi, UAE. He is an expert in SCAL analysis, reservoir wettability characterization, well testing analysis, perforation and testing design, multiphase flow meters and PVT data interpretation. As a reservoir lead, he involved more than 30 projects with Shell, BP, Chevron, ExxonMobil, and Petrochina in Iraq. He is the 1st place winner of 4 different paper contests in different SPE organizations (Turkey, UAE and Oman), author/co-author of more than 20 conference/journal papers, a book, and owner of a US Patent for a new wettability characterization method in reservoir rocks. He is the member of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and serves as a technical reviewer for energy related journals. He holds a B.Sc. (2005) and M.Sc.
